  1. One example springs to mind: Aidan's son ( I can't recall his name) Brought Karl Franz Ascended to BSB and wiped Dan off the table. Aidan's son is ~9 years old. Dan is a seasoned tournament vet. Even a 9 year old can figure out that most of the counters to 800+ point combat heroes rely on them inexplicably not being in combat, and charge something turn 2. The End Times, I guess they're a good leveler?
  2. Great Event, Great People, Great Time. Just another day at the office for the warhammsters, keep running amazing events!
  3. List looks cool. Is this for Ham Slamwhich? If so I hope to play you again, I'm that wood elf guy from OFCC with 2 dragons. The only thing i would consider changing are in the magic phase, you're taking a lot of comp hits in that phase currently and you may be able to trim them down a bit. First, how much has that support mage done in your practice games? I'd imagine its hard to find the power dice for the level 4 of shadow (who probably wants to cast 2 spells at least ), the warlocks, and the support mage for most turns? Dropping her and shifting the scroll to the level 4 could save you 16 points (11 for the mage, 5 for the earthing rod). That would put you into the 10 range (you'd be at a 9.6). I'd expect to see a lot of armies around 10 -12, so you'd have much less of a hill to climb. I know for sure most of the Canadians coming are using this as a master practice and will be building ~12 range. Alternatively have you considered metal for the level 4? A pair of good buffs, a pair of good hexes, a nice magic missile and a doom spell. Not as great as shadow sure, but it saves you 12 points and still does a decent job of complementing the army.
  4. Could we please confirm that we are using the masters faq but not the masters army construction rules? My current wood elf list contains a special character and I need to know if I need to change my list.
  5. My analysis indicated that if you were in the top 10 for battle your were far more likely to be in the bottom 10 for sports. If there was not a general negative correlation between sports and battle this would not be the case. In an ideal situation we would see sports scores randomly distributed with respect to battle scores, but we can see from a quick glance from you chart that this is simply not the case. 3 teams from the top half (10) of sports appear in the top half of battle and vice versa 3 teams from the top five of battle do not appear in the top 15 of sports Out of the top ten teams in battle points 7/10 finished below the top 10 of sports, and 3 of 10 finished out of the top 2/3. Assuming that 11th place won approximately 50% of their games, as they are the approximate half way line, then if you have a winning record you have a 70% chance of finishing in the bottom ten in sports. If you were one of the 5 best teams in battle points you had a 60% chance of ending up out of the top 15 in sports. Again i believe this indicates a negative correlation between battle score and sports score in general. If you won more than half your games you have a very good chance of finishing in the bottom half of sports. If you finished in the top 5 of battle you have a better than even chance of finishing in the bottom 5 of sports. This should not be the case if the teams were very close together in points and the difference was mostly the pins. The pins in theory should be randomly distributed with respect to battle points if the teams were very close in flat sports scores since this means the top teams in battle were not significantly less sportsmanlike when compared to the bottom teams. One look at the chart indicates they were not.
  6. Hey Dave, First congratulation to your team (Best sports correct?. ) to address your second point, the Warhamsters and DMB did indeed place first and second for sports, however the dimensional cascade forum placed 19th, its the podcast team that placed third. so out of the top ten teams you had sports 1, 2 and 6, then 7 teams that were below the top half in sports. of those 7 teams 4 were in the bottom 5 for sports. I believe that data supports my argument overall. If you were in the top 5 for battle you had a 3/5 chance of being in the bottom 5 for sports. If you were in the top 10 for battle you had a 7/10 chance of being the the bottom half for sports. Your team along with the Warhamsters are the outliers in this set of data ( that's a complement, people enjoy playing against you guys a ton, even if you beat them) and the numbers do bear that out. In general if you won more games you got less sports.
  7. Top 5 In Battle, Sports placement listed beside: Borderlands: Scylla 13 WCP: Hammered Heads 17 Order of the Black Sheep 20 Chop! 6 Ordo Alpha 20 Other than chop (and man how can you compete with those guys, they have their own word!) if you won most of your games you got less for sports. 1 of the top 5 in battle finished in the top half for sports and they were outside the top 5 in the category. If the difference was the Pins, as Burk just mentioned, (My team collected 4 and ended up 17th for sports) then the system needs to be revised. I would postulate that for the most part people give those pins to people they beat, rather than people who beat them. I'm not sure if we have data that can confirm or refute that, just going on my gut feeling. Full disclosure: was on WCP hammerheads, am one of those competitive Canadians
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys. If I make it to the open I'll bring out the empire :)

  10. Hello everyone! I've been playing the the below Empire List for a while and wanted to know if it was an acceptable OFCC list. The List is centered around a converted War Altar ( built out of Steam Tank Parts) and Demi-Griffs ( Built out of Penitent Engines). Its a Harder List, though it forgoes shooting almost entirely, and I wanted an Idea of how it would be received if I showed up with it. I've also got a Wood Elf List (With a Forest Dragon!) that would be my other option. Engineering Guild's First Experimental Squadron (Hobart's Funnies) Lords: Engineer-General Horbart Percival and the Steam Platform Incomparable: Arch Lector: Heavy Armour, The White Cloak of Ulric, Charmed Shield, Fencer's Blades War Altar of Sigmar: Horn Of Sigsmund Heroes Engineer-Artillerist Alan Brooke Level 2 Wizard, Lore of Light, Warhorse, Dispell Scroll Engineer-Artillerist Monty Petard Level 2 Wizard, Lore of Light, Warhorse Engineer-Captain Stanely Cleghorn: Captain of the Empire: Battle Standard Bearer, Full Plate, Sheild, Lance, Barded Warhorse, Dawn Stone * Riekscaptain Timothy "Tim" Brooke, Chosen of Sigmar: Captain of the Empire, Full Plate, Shield, Lance, Pegasus Van Horstmann's Speculum, Dragonhelm Core The Old Contemptibles (1st Heavy Cavalry Regiment) : 12 Knights of the Inner Circle, Full Command The Young Bloods (2nd Heavy Cavalry Regiment) 3 X 5 Knights, Standards and Musicians Special MK1 Steam Griffion Cavalry: 3 Demi Griffion Knights, Musician MK1 Steam Griffion Cavalry: 3 Demi Griffion Knights, Musician Imperial Observers: 10 Reiksguard Knights, Full Command Rare: Steam Tank Indomitable Steam Tank Inflexible
