  1. Long story short: my wife and I are contemplating moving to the Eugene/Springfield area around October. I must confess I do not know much about that area while my wife has an okish knowledge of the area. I am looking for any advice or helpful info any of you wonderful people have to offer. Lots of things would have to fall into place for this to happen but at the moment it seems like it could happen and we can do it intelligently. I do have a 4 year old, so thinking about good schools and such also. My wife would look into working from home for her current position and I am putting feelers out for job opportunities. I appreciate whatever it is you may have to say. I also may not look at this topic again until Monday so forgive me if there is a delay in responding to things.
  2. I hope no one minds me promoting some of my art shows on here randomly. I figure no harm in trying to let people know about some of these events. This Saturday, April 1st, from 4pm to Midnight at the Lucky Lab ( 1945 NW Quimby ) will be a free art show. It is all ages from 4pm to 10pm and dog friendly the whole time. Lots of local street artists will have art on display and for sale. The first 50 people in get a free goodie bag with various donated art (most likely stickers and pins and a coloring book). There will be a kids craft/art area. Live Music. There will also be live screen printing happening with 25 different designs available (including one of mine). You can get an available design printed for $3 if you bring in a blank shirt for it to be printed on (blank shirts will be available for purchase at the show for $10). Hope to see some of you there!
  3. This will become slightly pic heavy but my current painting fun is a bastardized bob ross style using acrylics instead of oil....I also do sticker art and am one of those pesky street art types so I will show a couple of my designs....you can also find me on IG ( @mauzdeadalive ).
  4. This weekend there is an Art Walk happening in SE PDX. I wound up lucking into an opportunity to snag some table space to sell my art. I will be at Best Friend located at 1121 SE Division on Sunday from 10am-4pm. If you happen to be there you should stop by and say hi. I will have some stickers and paintings for sale. You can probably score some stickers for free if you compliment my art and tell me you are on the boards here or get a discount on any paintings you might be interested in of mine. The best part is you can even ask for Mauz Deadalive and they will now who to point you towards! Hope this post is not inappropriate or in the wrong forum but I felt like posting about this in the off chance any of you already planned on checking out the Art Walk. Always nice to meet new people or see old familiar faces!
  5. D's Wicked Cider - Baked Apple is currently my favorite cider! 9/10 is a good rating indeed! (and to stay in trend) Minute Maid 100 % Orange Juice from Concentrate - 6/10 it gets the job done. Tastes like orange juice, no pulp that I can tell, not my favorite orange juice but I got this morning's taste test for free.
  6. I kind of wish I was. I got a hankering for rolling some dice and pushing models around the table but I feel I currently know jack squat about 40K having not played for awhile.
  7. Gah......curse me being slow on the uptake because us doing a team would have gotten me into playing at OFCC for sure this year. I would say if things don't pan out we could finagle something but it looks like you have been recruited.
  8. So this past weekend my family and I went down to Coos Bay for some clam digging fun with my in-laws. We had a blast and my in-laws are seasoned veterans at the digging for clams game down there. My in-laws mentioned that digging for Geoducks was something on their bucket list and I have to confess I would love the experience myself. (call me crazy) I come here to find out if maybe any of y'all happen to know some good spots to make this happen at or have any tips/hints/advice. Bonus points for keeping it close to Portland as the in-laws already vetoed heading up to the Seattle area.
  9. I was informed when I came into work that one of our temps quit today and that my boss had to act fast to replace him. I work in a print shop that mostly make labels for wine. The shop is expanding big time this year so this is a strong possibility of becoming permanent work. The job amounts to Quality Control and Shipping of finished labels. My boss asked if I knew anybody interested......so if you are interested, can act fast (he wants to start interviewing tomorrow), and get hired on by the temp agency we use then contact me for specifics.
  10. This is happening tomorrow and just felt like bumping it along with providing a website to the Facebook Event Page. https://www.facebook.com/events/487748544750359/ Thanks for taking a look and hope to see some of your friendly faces there!
  11. I wanted to post about an art show I am taking part in on February 20th in case any of y'all might be interested in checking out some local art. It is at Refuge PDX and is All Ages from 5 pm - 10 pm and then 21+ until 2 am. There will be interactive stuff so the kids can make art along with coloring books being done up. The cover is $5 (under 18 is free). I hope to see some of you there!
  12. Why do I lock the door to the bathroom at work when I know I am the only one there and that no one is going to surprise me by showing up?
