  1. Hi Ben,

Yes I have updated the roster.

I have listed everyone who has indicated that they can bring a table. If those listed bring a table we will have 7 which will be enough.

Ben if you could bring two just to be safe that would be awesome.

    Thank you!

  2. I have George B. doing the same thing. I think we will have even or close to even. If you switch over we will swing the other direction.

That being said. If you want to switch to Axis that is perfectly fine. We will end up with blue on blue anyway once we hit the second round.

  3. Hello everyone, I just wanted to put out a reminder that if you haven't sent your list to me for verification please do so by the 23rd of May.

Those who have not submitted their list for verification before hand will not be able to participate in the tournament.

    Thanks!

@Souldier3 If it is of any help, The Tacoma group can do terrain for most of not all the tables.  Let us know what your need is and we can make it happen.

Thank you Bill, when we get closer and see how many tables are needed it would be a big help to fill out those last couple tables.

One thing to keep in mind is the way I plan to do the Renaissance award this year will include points for putting on a great looking table. Terrain is part of the hobby so as a way of including all parts of the hobby the Renaissance award includes points for painting, table, sportsmanship, and tournament score. The highest sum of all those categories will take home the Renaissance award.

Also like last year I plan to have a small amount of prize support for all participants so everyone will get something. If anyone has something that has been in their pile of shame and would like to donate it as prize support that would be fine. If its not selected by anyone then you can take it back.

    Thanks All!

  5. Hi all!

I have started thinking on this years Flames of War tournament at Enfilade.

With current releases being late war I have decided we would have a late war tournament and am hoping the Berlin books will be out in time that players will have the full range of late war books to pick forces from.

Feedback is welcome and I will continue to update the info in my first post as we get closer to May and people sign up.

Please spread the word so we can have a good turnout and potentially increase our number of players.

    Thanks,

    Jake

  7. The tournament should have a variety of table types. I don't place any restrictions on tables that people bring. I think it is better to have a range of tables that are open and dense just as in real life. Having a variety of terrain density provides a layer to the game for the players to think about and solve.

Please bring a what you think would be an interesting table. I appreciate the help from those brining terrain as it makes the tourney possible.

  8. We can add people to the roster and I will update the Enfilade organizers that we will need a table or two more.

They started us with 6 tables but I told them we normally have more than 12 participants so I will let them know where we are currently and that we will likely need 7-8 tables.

I think this is the list I’m gonna use at Enfilade. I bought a few things and started to find myself having the “buying fever” (almost spent $500) and decided to slow down. If I just buy one more thing, the Kasserine box, I’m able to field this list. What do you guys think? 8F3655E2-9D85-4ECF-9B9D-1FC209A40DA7.thumb.jpeg.b6e71c7ae699a1e1df7560ec8099384b.jpeg

I think your list looks pretty good. Tanks, Infantry, Artillery, recon. It has pretty much all bases covered.

The only thing I think it is lacking is some High AT to threaten heavy tanks. That is not to say that you have to have something to knock out Heavy tanks as long as you recognize a way to mitigate them like shooting direct fire smoke at them so they have to move to get a clear shot or suffer the penalty for shooting through the smoke if they dont move.

Your 10.5 cm Arty has a smoke bombardment which can block their line of site for a turn.

Heavy tanks also cant be everywhere at once so attacking where they are not will help your medium tanks survive longer so you can capture an objective.

I think its a fine list for someone getting into the game.

Is it okay to use printed minis at the tournament. I can find everything I need but Panzer IIs

There are no rules for the tournament that you have to have purchased miniatures from a specific manufacturer.

The only thing we are looking for is 15mm miniatures. It would be nice if they are painted and not just printed PLA or resin.

    Printed miniatures are ok.

  11. I would say either of the last two lists would be very sturdy in terms of avoiding formation break.
The list with the two companies is good because they would have to break both companies which is pretty unlikely.

The last list with a ton of units in the panzergren formation is sturdy because it has so many units formation units.

I  look forward to seeing either of them in action at the tournament.
I'll add you to the roster!

  12. Hi Reynor,
For a formation to be valid you need to take the compulsory units which for the Panzergrenadier company would the the HQ and a minimum of 2 panzergrenadier platoons.

Currently you only have 1 so you will need to change that.

One small tip would be to have more units that are in your formation so the formation is a bit more robust.

When checking if your company Formation morale you need to have at least two units from your formation in good spirits. Support units don't count toward formation morale so if someone takes out all but one of your formation units (in this case Panzergren HQ and Panzergren platoons) you would lose the game.

My recommendation if you have your heart set on playing the units above would be to either drop a support unit and bulk up your Panzergren formation with more core units OR change from a panzergren formation to a Panzer IV or Mixed panzer formation. You might not be able to put the stugs in those formations im not sure but then you could have 1 panzergren platoon as support and drop the panzergren HQ.

    Hope that makes sense.

  13. If you need help with your list shoot me an email (souldier3@gmail.com) and i'll help you out. Do you have a book that shows your force formation and the characteristics of all the units? Thats very important. If you have unit cards those are handy to also reference the unit characteristics.

I hope to get some games in between now and the tourney but will people help me with the rules if I’m still learning or is this a hardcore tournament?

I work in Puyallup and live in Bellevue so my travel range is pretty wide. Does anyone want to play between now and Enfilade?

We welcome new players and are happy to help people with the rules if you are lacking experience. If you have read the rule book and just have not had much opportunity to get games in I would say you should come to the tournament and get some experience. This is not a hardcore unfriendly environment with our group.
