  1. I disagree about the aggressors. The list looks like it advances turn 1, with a turn 2 outflank from the aggressors as the wolf assault elements come into range. The enemy deals with one or the other and takes the counter punch. If the aggressors live to turn 3 they are either dumping buckets of dice on everything around them, or moving up and fisticuffing with their bro’s. Looks fun 🙂
  2. I had a few minutes to work on some sky claws. I decided to work on them in finishable batches instead of trying to churn through the whole lot and getting discouraged. Base coats and wash done, I’ll move on to dry brushes and highlights next. I tried to use more of the young ‘crazy space wolf’ heads, rather than the ‘old man’ grey hunter’y ones, to convey their blood claw status. I’m actually really happy with the flock of seagulls mow hawk (which I normally dislike).
  3. I read the title of the above as “Antman”, then the review. I was like, what the heck? So I checked the title again. Phew, crisis averted.
  4. I would argue that living in such a cold climate that body hair in general would be a dominant evolutionary trait. Although 20k years might not be a long enough time line to see that sort of shift... There are other blurbs throughout the wolf fluff that suggest the original settlers of fenris (and likely the fauna) were engineered to be able to survive on the planet. That would be my last hope for any sort of justification of the points you raise. 🙂
  5. I would imagine the average life span for a normal human on Fenris (or any death world for that matter) is considerably shorter than on other imperial planets, or even our modern earth. When 35 is an ‘old man’, and everything everywhere wants to kill you it might accelerate maturity levels a bit.
  6. Lots a dakka. Pretty well rounded, mobile/campy where it needs to be. Should be fun to fight with/against
  7. Looks really good. It’s nice to have folks who are super enthusiastic about the hobby. I find that when I’m around people like that I’m way more motivated to paint/play, as that energy bleeds off into their surroundings. Keep it up.
  8. Well told. The Vlka Fenryka will be fun on the tables 🙂
  9. Paint is complete on the priest. Cork base to follow. He was fun to work on, and reminds me stat wise of an old blood angel librarian from 3rd/4th ed. With the fight last relic + his powers he should be Hel on the table. The axe is iffy up close, but looks pretty spiffy from table top ranges.
  10. Really nice. The fades on the grays, and from yellows to orange are super smooth. I like the basing as well.
  11. As a dad it resonated with me too. The reaction by the gaming (wolf) community on one of the larger forums (B&C) was pretty amazing. Many members assembled/painted/shipped packs of wolves for his Great Company to Brand while he was in the hospital. Its one of the examples of how good our community can be.
  12. He’s the red scorpion Forge World librarian, Sevrin Loth. The shoulder pads are Burning of Prospero, and the axe is third party (spell crow) from guardian games. I’m pretty pleased so far.
  13. Just some quick progress on the priest.
  14. Having finished some significant armor I’m rewarding myself with some jump infantry. I had a ton of misc wolf models, with a large batch of old metal jump packs. Keeping with working into my existing collection I decided to combo the two. Skyclaws here we come 🙂 Along with this roudy mob I’m adding in some wolf priest action, to keep the ‘claws’ pointed in the right direction. Also, I’ll add in a few jump rune priests, for some added stormy punch. Should be fun.
  15. When I was young my family would rent vhs tapes every Friday and everybody got to pick 1 flick. All my younger brother ever picked was Godzilla movies. Lots of good memories there 🙂
  16. Just a little update: I’ve been able to do a little work on the transports, and was pleasantly surprised in a game the other evening by their performance. Just having a mobile wall(s) tooling around for the other boys to advance behind before pouncing was very useful.
  17. I can’t spam the like button hard enough.
  18. From the finished dread pics above: GW followed through on their commitment to include the name of a young SW fan in the codex who had succumbed to cancer. A nice move by them.
  19. I always wear see through, snake skin,“pants”, when I go to the archery range. Get out of my head! 😉
  20. That trait, with the cover from a rune priest, is going to make for some pretty tough mid field ‘cores’.
  21. It’s going to get awkward when I start yelling at people in Fenrisian as I roll charge dice. 😋
  22. Should be pretty awesome with what they can do with plastic now. I watched a new wolf codex bat rep last night and the wolf lord had named his thunder hammer Celestine, after his 1 true love 😜. Fun times.
