  1. I've worked on a lot of spartan resin over the years and have had similar problems. Honestly I have taken to leaving resin to soak in simple green a few days, scrub, soak again and scrub and rinse. Anything else and I end up with problems like yours half the time. [edit] the only brush primer I have had good luck with is Vallejo black. White stuff rubs off to easy most of the time. I've had good luck with dilute gesso also.
  2. Ill check my schedule, but I am totally down for feast of crows with my own warbands.
  3. Hey thanks for the games guys. It was nice to play with someone more familiar with the practical play of the Saga rules than myself :D Hopefully I can make it again in the future, wifey work schedule permitting...
  4. My friend and I are planning on attending this. I'll have 6pt of Anglo Saxons and Vikings for saga, plus some terrain if needed.
  5. I use white gesso for priming, but I use it way watered down and for only small scale stuff. I have tried it for 28mm and personally I was not very pleased with the results. I found that if i didn't water it down I'd get softened details and often crush strokes. If I did I Water it down , I would get bubbles in the primer. I've heard black works better, but I've never tried and I can't imagine color would make difference. There is a post somewhere with a few shots of larger scale minis primed with gesso on my blog smallscaleminis.wordpress.com, but mostly about my experience with 6mm scale. I've heard good things about vallejo surface primer brushed on, that's the next thing I'm going to try.
  6. I have to assume you are talking about ASL, as original Sl is long out of print. That said you really don't need most of those rules to start. Mostly just the first section, and huge swaths of that aren't really needed to get started. What modules do you have? Beyond valor? If you can get your hands on it the paratrooper module had a good old school Avalon Hill 'Programmed instruction' section. You might be able to find a digital copy and use vassal to play it. I have not played In years but it is totally worth it. While I don't know how accurate it is, it makes for compelling saving private Ryan type ww2 action.
