Hello all - I am gauging reaction on my participation in Brad's Infinity Campaign when it gets started. As of now, I'm planning to come up to DTG to enjoy the campaign with the rest of you. If anyone has any objections or issues, with me or that idea, please do let me know. Happy Holidays, Jon
  2. Gibson's, Peripherals Murakami, [Colorless...] Martinez, The boy kings of Texas - Amis, Money Irving Welch, skagboys
  3. This from the man with a large speaker-man avatar? :P lol. We're all big kids here, dude.
  4. Just to clarify, I was never under the impression that the 1st amendment applied here. I simply stated my view that if it was not being observed then I felt that was too bad. As for belittling the constitution. Tell you what - lets each PM each other a list of what we've done for our country and constitution. I'm sorry, sir, but you're WAY off on that one!
  5. Thanks, I wasn't sure who they were or how to go about reaching them. My intent was to find a mod not air dirty laundry.
  6. yarb, All due respect but my freedom of speech was abridged. Merely saying that the "Gragnards meet on Tuesdays to compare Beard size" is only an insult if you haven't seen the 6 tables and 60+k points of WH40k in my shop, not to mention the Fow, Malifaux, Infinity, Deadzone, X-Wing and boardgames. I revere Grognards; and Pretre is correct; I am 'whining' about my access to the subforum being revoked. Yes I HAD requested it because I felt that it was pointless to be in an environment where anything said that wasn't viewed favorably was deleted.
  7. I recently had my posts complaining about Bellingham WA Ordo admin, JMGrahm's, handling of club issues deleted, along with my access (at my later request - I felt no need to be where the 1st amendment was not) to that subforum. I had shown a dissenting opinion to the Admin's and when I posted about some duplicity involved in club shenanigans it was immediately removed. If I can reach a mod with this post I'd like to lodge an official complaint and have my posts (and his status) reviewed...that or just whine into the aether.
  8. So I received a PM from Jim Grahm informing me that, "several complaints from different people about the tone of your posts over the past week or two. You're coming across to others as unnecessarily (Ed. Sp?) rude, derisive, and counter-productive." I have been asked to surrender my first amendment rights in favor of the 'Ordo-Code'. No problem! I've asked Jim to delete my account. I'm a firm constitutionalist, folks. None of hat I've said here has been any more inflammatory than some of the other rants I've sen but no matter. One Question I'd ask Mr. Grahm publicly is this: Why threaten to ban me from Ordo for the same tone that you thanked me for using when you sent me a Private PM congratulating me on popping off on Kevin when you "couldn't" (presumably on behalf of working dads everywhere)/ Half the reason this club is falling apart is that its not sire if it's one of Jim's experiments or an actual separate entity. Personally I no longer care. Once you threaten to curb my words, I'm out. I sincerely hope that I have not caused anyone here any problems and have truly not meant to hurt anyone's feelings. It's too bad we won't be gaming on Tuesday nights but I look forward to seeing you all on other days. Or, if, you're butt-hurt about it then, not. Either way I wish you all the best. Take care, and for what it worth gentlemen, I'd fight for the club you want not the club you have.

  11. Honestly I fail to see the fascination with DTG. After watching things for a year I feel like it might be the best game shop in Bellingham but 'best' only means better than the alternatives. If you like to game there great. If you like to go on 'Tiewsday' and compare beard length with the grognards then have-at-it. I just think that that back room creates more drama than a tele-novella. Hell people - If a gaming related space that serves beer within city limits is what people need to exist then I can think of a 1/2 dozen places off the top of my head that would work. I like gaming at DTG - I like gaming elsewhere. I dislike sides of drama with my gaming. Why should Kevin feel like he has to resign? I think things are fine. I don't like ditching scheduling but hey, this is America. I'm not a WarHamster but I enjoy gaming with you guys and I feel like the club has so much untapped potential being bogged down under deeper issues and divides than government and scheduling.
  12. I think I'll just wear whatever funny hat I need to and speak whats spoken on Tuesdays (i.e. On hamster nights, I'm fine with hamster rules but I will be scheduling DTG games on other days too) Having only been around the Tues. night scene for a year I don't feel, at this time, that being a WarHamster is something that I am prepared for but I will continue to schedule, play and hang-out with "Warhamsters" - What or Whoever they are :) Games are games no matter what we play or who we play with. Kevin, I still want that game of X-Wing and I don't think you should step down. Don't make me google up that scary stalker girl meme. The whole damn thing was a forum flame man, nothing more, probably forgotten 3 pints of Irish Death ago by all. Hell, in my family we got knocked senseless on a regular basis for no discernable by our cousins until we hit like 13 or 14 but god forbid someone come after just one of us. My point is friends yell and posture sometimes - whats a little pissing match between a bunch of gamers? /laugh. No really, I did a belly laugh there.
  13. The Blognard: A highly elusive yet infinitely skilled gamer with inner daemons (which are possibly painted but definitely angst ridden)
  14. Alas, I shall be visiting the local doctor of medicine so as to have leeches applied to mine shoulder in hopes of its healing this Tiewsday. As my fight with Daemons in kind has been abandoned in search of more fitting match-ups, I will likely not make it to the public house on said day. /*single Middle English tear drop
  15. Sounds good. If you want a game PM me which one of the Daemon test lists you want to try. I've got a variant on the last LVO '15 list that I tweaked - might be fun, might suck. We'll have to play it to see.
  16. Hey Kevin, Let's play X-Wing. Scheduled or not, I don't care. My inbox this morning would seem to indicate by its contents that some people are incapable of distinguishing between rancor and pure dislike or hatred. I like you Kevin, Maybe not Like Like you but that will probably save your life in the end because my wife is jealous as hell and gave up a promising career as a sniper to immigrate. My point - Just because Kevin annoyed me and I responded, this does not mean anything more than the fact that I have chosen to exercise my 1st amendment right. That is it. "Grumble grumble, Constitution, 'Murica, Constitution" Now as much as I mercilessly mock Kacy about the game of X-Wing, (I make up for it by treating his liver like a scotch foi gras experiment) I do like the game itself and would enjoy playing with you, Kevin. Obviously not on a Tuesday unless we happen to bump into each other looking for a game but perhaps we could schedule a game for a different day. Looser buys the Red Bull? Kev - Now, If you're truly as butt-hurt as people seem to think you'll be over my comments then feel free to wait a week - I'll still be wanting a game. I doubt this is the case. People: These are games. Please tell me we don't need to have Don chime in with a lesson in what real life looks like in the 'Ham right now; not to mention the world at large. Example: I just pulled my niece out of a fking Civil War. We have family who have lost pretty much everything they had and worked for in their lifetime to the occupying Russian forces in Crimea. Let's all revel in our relatively comfortable, first-world, cushy gaming existence, eh? Full Disclosure: Please do not confuse this with a retraction or an amelioration. It is neither. I mean every word I've said - in this post and the previous ones as well. I stand by my opinion and my right to express it. That is all.
  17. The tone I was going for, personally, was "pay attention to what follows because I won't be repeating" a la Gny. R. Lee Ermy USMC Ret. You bring an interesting point, L. I'm not really "hamster enough" to do meetings anymore really, I think. I've tried to show my support for the club by supporting those that make up its constituency, dropping a mint in DTG and offering up whatever I could in this past year but I've found this to be a fragmented club full of simmering resentments, petty arguments and occasionally a S-load of fun gaming. I'd like to see that change, but I'm only willing to put in work to that end insofar as there's impetus for change. I'm not interested in busting a ss on this for no reason when people really just want the status quo and to occasionally flip out on the forums. As usual, Loren, you've put things in a very positive light and for that you deserve to be recognized and thanked. I do need to note that though I agree with the statement that "text is a piss poor medium in which to have a discussion" I pretty much meant this weeks posts to be taken as written. No pulling punches - that's my 2015 resolution #4 (I'm starting early to ensure follow-through).
  18. So this showed up in my inbox the other day: http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Warhammer-40-000-The-Rules I wonder if this means that 7e is the last rules release. Certainly, convincing argument could be made that it looks like this is the last rules release for some time. I guess we shall have to wait, play and see !
  19. Snark? Too late for that, son. Listen up, I don't give a rusty fk what you do with your life but when you try to walk in my boots you're just making assumptions, bud. Let me tell you something: When you have a serious job, wife, and kid(s) to juggle, you don't have time to make three dang 40k lists on the off chance that there's going to always be a match-up available - and that's where you're logic train breaks down: you're not allowing for the possibility that people will be left without games because you are, after all, pretty much proposing taking the order out of a working system to induce some kind of, what, Keynesian chaos balance?. If I strike out on a game night it's cost me a total of 50 minutes of driving to and from plus time twiddling my thumbs and the fact that I've now fk'd off time that could have been spent productively having fun if ....waaaait for it...only I had planned. Like you know...made a date on some kind of forum where everyone hangs out and talks about local gaming at one particular store, but hey steering away from Crazy Town, lets move on. Oh wait...let's just don't. I'm distributing Zero Fks this quarter. And not that it matters but I never disputed the fact that 40k was being played there. You must have me confused with some other troll. I like you as a person, Kevin, but I'm not buyin' what you're sellin'.
  20. This. Thanks for having the balls to say what I was thinking.
  21. No offense but this thread seems to contain some of the most misguided generalizations I've heard lately; (sorry guys). I don't know about Fantasy but 40k, in its current iteration, is no longer a casual pickup game that can be played with anyone and against any army. Those of us with families and esp. those with kids simply don't have the time to cross their fingers and hope a game drop in their lap on a Tuesday night. I think it's great that a segment of the Hamsters is concerned that people aren't getting pick-up games etc. and are willing to address the issue. That said, I notice most of those in favor of ditching scheduling have far fewer responsibilities and time commitments than the warhamsters with families. Just an observation.
  22. AhHa I'm onto you Eli!! It's a $30 starter - You're on your own now :P
  23. it's good. oh wait hey....you probably want your starter back Brad: "I didn't let you borrow my....." </"$hit">
