  5. At my shop we have been using the AoS SDK page https://sites.google.com/site/ageofsigmarsdk/pointtables. It is a great point system and after 20 games using 5 different armies I can attest it is very balanced. I recommend it as it is also free and easy to use. In fact there is an excel file with drop downs for each army. In addition, we have adopted a few house rules to promote fun gameplay with out some of the OP stacks that can be used. Firstly, the system has not auto success/fail on roles. Se we simply added that for hits/wounds, 1s are misses and 6s are hits. Regardless of stacked Mystic Shields and so on. Also we impose that in order to summon a unit, you had to start with a unit of that Warscroll at the start of battle. No summon may summon more than 20 wounds worth of models and for "Kill them All" battles, summoned units do not count toward the total of models that need to be destroyed to gain victory so long as the Heroes are numbered in the destroyed units. Example: VC army starts with 50 models. Summons 30 more during the battle for a total of 80. Opponent destroys 50 models including the Heroes. They are victorious regardless of the fact that 30 models still remain from the VC army. Lastly, a Warscroll able to reinforce must declare which units are set aside for reinforcements and do not have to be played at the beginning of battle like summoning yet follow all other summoning rules. Just how we are playing. Working great so far and we start our league next Thursday. Mythic Ninja
  6. Mythic Realm Games Presents AGE OF SIGMAR STORY DRIVEN LEAGUE WHEN: Thursdays 6pm till Close WHERE: Mythic Realm Games – 14313 NE 20th Ave. Ste. A108 Vancouver, WA 98686 START: 8/27/15 DETAILS: This is a story driven league set in the Age of Sygmar world. Each week we will have a new scenario that involves battles within the storyline. Each player will choose a Hero from their list to act as their avatar within the narrative. New command traits can be gained and used in the following weeks by playing on league nights and meeting scenario conditions. The objective of this league is to foster a fun narrative and player gamesmanship. All ages are welcome and staff will be on hand to teach the game for first time players. Players can download the free rules from http://www.games-workshop.com and we will have copies in store as well. Raffle Points: Every Thursday during the league, participants will be able to earn Raffle Points (RP). These points will then be used to purchase raffle tickets at the end of the league during our League Tournament for prizes. 1. 50% of models in your army are painted = 1 RP 2. 100% of models in your army are painted = 2 RP 3. The Player speaks in Character for their avatar = 1 RP 4. Newly Painted Models = 1 RP (At least 4 small based models or 2 medium based models or 1 large based model) RULES: In terms of army balancing we will be utilizing a Warscroll point system found here at https://sites.google.com/site/ageofsigmarsdk/pointtables. Army point values will vary depending on players (Starting box boasts two armies of about 900 points each for the Khorne Bloodbound & Stormcast Eternal armies). In addition to the point system the following house rules will also apply: 1. Auto miss/success – In terms of rolls to hit and to wound, rolls of 1s are always misses and rolls of 6s are always hits with the standard re-rolling rules in effect. This prevents stacking to create indestructible units and so fourth. 2. Summoning: A wizard who has the summon ability may only summon from Warscrolls that have had units in play since the beginning of the battle. IE a Necromancer can not summon a unit of skeletons if the controlling player did not have skeletons in play at the beginning of the battle. Furthermore when summoning, the summoner may only summon up to 20 additional wounds of models per summoning spell. IE a necromancer could summon up to 20 more skeletons as they have 1 wound each. In battles where the objective is to destroy the enemy, summons do not count toward the base number of models that need to be removed from play to win and all hero units must be among the slain. Example: If a Vampire Count army starts with 50 models on the battlefield then the opposing player need only destroy 50 models to achieve victory so long as all hero units of the Vampire Count army have been slain. 3. Reinforcements: Players who have units that are able to reinforce must follow the rules for summoning except they may reinforce with a unit not fielded at the beginning of the battle. However, they must clearly show their opponent which unit is able to bring in reinforcements and which unit they plan to bring onto the battlefield as reinforcements and the unit must be a legal unit to reinforce with according to the Warscroll of the summoner. 4. When in doubt, roll it out! If a die roll or a rule is unclear then simply roll 1D6 with a 1-3 being YES and 4-6 being No or some similar outcome. Be a good sport! We reserve the right to makes changes to any and all rules at any time (Got to say it for legal stuffs). Be a good sport! Be nice to your opponent! Shake hands after your game! Don’t be a jerk to anyone! We look forward to seeing you at Mythic Realm Games. Mythic NINJA (AKA Chris)

  8. Week 3-4 Story League Special Rules Mythic Realm Games Warhammer 40,000 Story League Battle for Arx November 2014 – February 2015 The Arx system. For thousands of years Arx has been an unstable gate for the Eye of Terror. It was here that Abaddon the Despoiler began the Gothic War by raiding the research station in 139.M41. It bypasses the Cadian Gate, and hence is an attractive system to wage attacks from. However, recently Arx has become much more. Readings from the system show a psychic anomaly of galactic proportions that has not been spoken of since the Eldar brought into being the entity of Slaanesh. Such power is not only unsettling due to the unknown origin of this anomaly but also because Terra is not the only ones to notice. All sectors are reporting sightings of multiple xenos races converging on Arx and worse yet the presence of the hive mind has been felt. If Arx is not scouted, the source of the anomaly detected and controlled then the Hive itself could be called to it via the Eye of Terror. The warp is in turmoil and legions of chaos are spilling through. Arx it seems has become a beacon to all. Who will take Arx first and either put an end to the psychic anomaly or worse…wield it? Chapter 2 – For Power! The psychic energy levels on Arx is growing and the factions have located the coordinates for several “Energy Wells”. These pockets of psychic energy could lead to answers as to why Arx is in such a flux or perhaps could even be the source itself. In a race for understanding and/or power, each faction has set out to be the first to capture these “Energy Wells.” Week 3-4 Special Game Rules Use the “The Emperor’s Will” Rules for this week’s story game with the following rules applied. At the center of the table place a third objective marker. This marker represents the “Energy Well.” Only a Avatar Warlord may capture this objective. If a Avatar Warlord has control of this objective at the end of the game roll on the table below for a special artifact he has obtained and may use for the remainder of this league play. Shard Sword – Melee Weapon, STR +2, AP 2, Armorbane, Fleshbane, Unwieldly Shard Thrower – Range: Template, STR 6, AP 5, Rending Mind Shard – Gives Psycher Level 1, May gain 1 psychic power from the Divinition list. Body Shard – Bestows +1 STR, +1 Tough, and Feel No Pain to the Bearer Soul Shard – Bestows +1 WS, +1 INIT, May reroll To Hit & To Wound results of 1 Shard Lance – 1 time use per game. Range 48’’, STR 6, AP 2, Ignores Line of Sight, Fleshbane, Barrage, Heavy 1, Gets Hot *Please make sure to log which item you have collected for your Avatar Warlord on the Weekly League Play Log Sheet. **Each Avatar Warlord may only collect/equip one Shard Item. ***Honor System: Please make sure to roll for your Shard item with a witness present.

  13. Mythic Realm Games Warhammer 40,000 Story League Battle for Arx November 2014 – February 2015 The Arx system. For thousands of years Arx has been an unstable gate for the Eye of Terror. The warp is in turmoil and legions of chaos are spilling through. Arx it seems has become a beacon to all. Who will take Arx first and either put an end to the psychic anomaly or worse…weild it? The purpose of this league is to promote fun gameplay during a story arc that takes place in the 40k universe. While competitive play is welcome, the idea is to invest in the story of your personal Avatar as he grows to become a powerful commander within your army. While everyone wants to have a good game and to win the most important rule in this league is to have fun and be a good sport. League Rules: 1. All league games must be played at Mythic Realm Games 14313 NE 20th Ave
Suite A108
Vancouver, WA 98686 during normal business hours (subject to store event schedule). 2. League play will garner league points which will then be used for raffle events during segments of the league. 3. Special Escalation Rules: Every two weeks the army point total will increase. Players may continue to play at lower point totals if both participants agree. Starting army point total is 500. Below is a breakdown of the point totals for each week. Point limits may not be exceeded. 4. Each player must choose one army faction to play through the league and may not change their faction for the duration of the league with the exception of special league rules. However, armies may incorporate different allies per 7th edition rules as long as their Avatar HQ does not change. 5. Each player will choose an HQ unit from their army faction list and rename the unit to personalize the unit. The unit retains all stats per their faction’s codex. Players may not change their HQ for the remainder of the league and this HQ must be incorporated in every league game. 6. Each game will be played using the 7th 40k rule set and each army must be based off the current army codex. Codexes that have been released after the League start date are not required for play. 7. Each player must bring a copy of their army list for view by their opponent. Digital copies may be used but must be clear and reviewable by your opponent. 8. WISIWYG rules are in place, however proxies may be used as long as both players agree and there is a clear understanding of what the unit is and what gear it has (this is to promote story and gameplay, don’t be a jerk). 9. Special Story events/circumstances will be administered by the League Moderator and will be available at the store. 10. Each player must log their weekly league game at Mythic Realm Games at the time of play. Failure to sign in will result in no league points being awarded. 11. Forgeworld Models are not allowed in league games unless both players and the League Moderator agree in advance and have clear up to date rules for each model. 12. 2 League Tournaments will be held with special story elements added. 13. It is recommended but not mandatory that each player play a different opponent each week. Players will choose whom they will play each week. 14. All rulings by the League Moderator are final. League Avatar HQ Advancement: 1. Players must choose an HQ unit from their faction Codex to become their Avatar HQ. This will represent the player during each game. The Avatar HQ must be present in every league game and may not change once chosen though gear may be changed between point lists per the rules of your respective codex. Players will rename their Avatar HQ and this will represent your army name during league play. Example: Steve chooses a farseer for his Avatar HQ and follows all rules for his farseer per the Eldar Codex. He names his Avatar HQ Eldrenathor the Souldbender. For the remainder of league play Eldrenathor the Soulbender will remain his Avatar HQ and will advance gaining permanent warlord traits and special story gear. Eldrenathor must be included in every league game and tournament. 2. Warlord Traits will not be rolled for at the beginning of each battle per the 7th edition rules. Instead, at the end of each battle each player will roll randomly for a Warlord trait from their respective codex or from the 7th edition rule book. The player who won the match may then force the losing player to re-roll their Warlord trait once. 3. The Avatar HQ must be your Warlord and may be the only unit to benefit from the Warlord traits. 4. Each Warlord may have a total of 2 Warlord traits (may only gain 1 per battle). If a Warlord were to achieve a new trait the player must either decide to drop a trait and take the newer trait or discard the new trait. 5. Special items (loot) may be obtained through league play. These items will be given out by the League Moderator during certain events. Rules for these items will be given during the time the item is awarded. League Point Accumulation: Each week players may earn several league points. League points buy raffle tickets for league giveaways. More details will be provided in store. Points may be earned as follows: 1. Weekly League play: 1 point. (Maximum 1 point per week) 2. Fully painted army: 1 point. (maximum 1 point per week) 3. Story Points: The League Moderator will award league points during special events or when certain game achievements have been met. 4. League tournament play: 2 points (players who participate in the league tournaments will gain 2 points for entry. (More points may be awarded during tournaments determined by the League Moderator) Army Point Limit by Week: Week 1 - 500, week 2 - 500, week 3 - 750, week 4 - 750, week 5 - 1000, week 6 - 1000, week 7 - 1500, week 8 - 1500, week 9 - 1850, week 10 - 1850. 22. Saturday, 2/22/14 12 PM to 6 PM (About 4 rounds) Mythic Realm Games presents 2v2 randomized pairings Kill Teams Tournament. Before the tournament, we will randomly decide teams and those teams will play the tourney together. In the spirit of playability this means that even a Nid player will be able to team up with other armies regardless of ally rules. For fluff sake we will assume the armies aren't so much working together as they are going for the same goal. This even will be story based and special story rules will be in place and given at the time of the event. If you are looking for a fun casual tournament where the idea is to have some fun, enjoy the game and not get bogged down in rules lawyering then this is the even for you. Even if you have never played Kill Teams, we will be happy to teach you the easy to learn rules. So come on down. We will be using a modified version of the GW rule set. Mods: * 250 pt. Army * No 2+ saves allowed (this includes add ons that would give a 2+ even if the unit does not have a 2+ in its description) * Must designate 1 leader and 3 special units * Running: unit is allowed a full run movement (no D6 roll required) * Moving through difficult terrain: Movement is halved. (this allows for faster smoother games without having to roll for each individual model * We reserve the right to modify rules and will do this only to make the games more fun and playable to all. And yes, there will be prizes!!!!!! Story: Mythic Realm Games Presents A Warhammer 40k Kill Team Tournament Escape from Purgatory A Warp maelstrom has swept through the galaxy. A torrent of Warp energy that has snaked its way among the stars unleashing a chaotic rift. Those unlucky to have been caught in this warp storm have had their ships, souls and in some cases worlds ripped asunder. However, for a few the maelstroms have transplanted them to an alien world within the Warp that librarians know only as Purgatory. Purgatory is a small world that exists within the Warp that is constantly bombarded by psychic forces, meteor showers and inhabited by creatures of nightmare. The climate of Purgatory can range from harsh swamps that devour the largest freighters to sub zero tundra and murky forests. It is a place not fit for man nor xenos. There is one thing that Purgatory does contain that no other planet in the known galaxy may claim. Psyphire. A glowing blue crystalline stone that radiates pure psychic energy. The stone itself is a conduit for psychic powers and serves to amplify and direct it in powerful ways. Psyphire is the most psychically active substance ever discovered. There are few in the galaxy that have ever touched foot on Purgatory and fewer still that have left its surface. But those who have speak of a stone so powerful in its psychic energy that a psycher with enough mental strength may travel the warp without the use of a vessel. If your forces are to leave the surface of this hell within the warp then only by gathering Psyphire may this be accomplished. Cut off form your main forces, each army will have to adapt their strategies to make use of their limited resources and put everything aside for the greater cause…Escape! This may mean even allying with those you would never consider fighting side by side with or even brother killing brother if they should stand in your way. The price for failing to escape is the loss of your soul to the warp…forever. Primary Mission Objective: Find allies to aid in collecting the Psyphire and escape Purgatory. Avoid the harsh planetary conditions. Survive. Tournament Special Rules: 1. This tournament will use a modified version of the GW Kill Team rule set. Rules may be changed to facilitate sportsmanship and fair gameplay. a. 250 pt. Army b. 1 leader and 3 specialists per army c. No Heavy units may be taken d. No 2+ saves allowed (even if the save would be given after purchasing the unit) e. Running: Auto 6’’ move in the run phase, no roll required f. Difficult Terrain: Movement halved, no rolls required g. Each game has a 50-minute time limit. At the end of the time limit, finish the turn you are currently in and count up all victory points. The team with the highest victory point score at the end of the tournament wins. 2. Psyphire Deposits: a. At the beginning of each battle, each team will roll for deployment normally and then place 3 objective markers in their opponent’s board half following the rules for objective marker placement. Once each objective marker has been placed, roll 2D6 for scatter. On a HIT, scatter half the distance. b. Legal units are considered capturing the Psyphire if they are within 3’’ and line of sight and no enemy model is contesting. (Models within vehicles may not capture objective points) c. Psyphire objectives may not be moved during the game. 3.Victory Points: a. First Blood – 1pt b. Line Breaker – 1pt c. Kill enemy leader – 2pts d. Kill specialist – 1pt e. Capture and hold uncontested Psyphire deposit – 3pts f. Table your opponent – 1pt Perils of Purgatory: Each game, players will face the harsh conditions of Purgatory. They are as follows: 1. Game 1 a. Meteor Shower: The surface of the planet is bombarded by small meteors that lay waste the land. i. At the end of turn 3. Each player places 1D3 small blast templates on the battlefield then rolls 3D6 scatter (always scatters regardless of HIT result). Any model under the template when scatter is resolved suffers a STR 8 AP 3 hit ignores cover. Models removed in this way do not give victory points. 2. Game 2 a. Razor Winds: Winds so powerful that the rocky surface is whipped about like shards of glass, slicing through those unlucky enough not to take cover. i. At the end of turn 2, all models must take a pinning test regardless of special rules (i.e. even fearless models). If a model would go to ground they keep the benefit of their cover save but can take no actions on the following round. 3. Game 3 a. Critical Levels of Warp Energy: The warp energy of the surface has become unstable. Armies fight not only for the Psyphire deposits but also for a shield generator at the center of the battlefield. Obviously this shield system was left by someone trapped on the planet before you. It is the only salvation from the warp storm. i. At the end of turn 3 select the center point of the map. Any model not completely within 18 inches of the center point automatically suffers a STR 10 AP 2 hit ignores cover. Models removed in this way do not give victory points. 4. Game 4 a. Purgatory Wurms: These creatures burrow under the planet’s surface in search of their food source, Psyphire. They have been known to burst from the ground and swallow whole units. i. At the beginning of turn 4. Each player chooses a Psyphire deposit and places a large blast template over it then rolls 3D6 for scatter, ignoring HIT results. If any part of the template would leave the battlefield then reroll it. Any model completely within the blast template is removed immediately with no saves allowed. Models partially within the blast template suffer an immediate STR 6 AP - hit ignores cover. Models removed in this way do not give victory points. Rules subject to change.
