  1. I think I can get my Brit Airlanding to the points level needed. Sounds fun! Count me in.
  2. I'm working on securing this tourny, stay tuned! If so, I can bring my desert terrain/ East front Terrain.
  3. Thanks, I'm doing mine specifically as a panzer KG from Desperate Measures. I like how the black uniforms look, so I'll go with that. Cheers
  4. Doing up my StuG batterie... Looked about on the net and it seems like SPGs fall under artillery so the crew on StuGs would have greenish Uniforms with artillery markings? But as things fell apart... Are black outfits ok for my guys?and as far as slapdashed crew fit outs in late war, Is peadot out of the question? ( man does it look cool on panzer crew)
  5. Somebody was saying how it was going to Be like infantry aces. I really don't thinkit will be at all, but I would want a book for each era. Not just one, as some are saying . Good point about the tank cost, didn't think that far ahead :) I think I need a box of Japanese troops! I'm guessing they didn't change very much. I think we'll see ambush teams. Jumping out of Spider holes .
  6. I'm all about the Pacific, I truly think it must be broken up into E/ M / Late. but I'm very excited to do some Pacific terrain. I've heard the rumblings That it's going to be infantry aces basically, but if the tanks are limited and pointed properly, it can be balanced and historical too.
  7. That's helpful! When I did Soviets I used tin foil Rolled between several toothpicks ( to create the rolls and folds of the fabric . They looked killer. With the printed out thing : i'd slather mod podgy or pva glue over it and try to shape it before it hardens . Thanks for sharing that link.
  8. I have to say, there is nothing in the world quite like the last minute, up against the clock painting/ modeling just before a tournament ???? Reminds me once I painted and based an entire Brit para platoon in several hours. Phew! No camo on the smocks, needless to say.
  9. I also think the EW tourny would be perfect for this. I've got a bunch of loose stuff I could part with. Good idea.
  10. I like it, a dollar a book was always too good to last long. Had it been ten bucks a book , I'd still have used EARMY. This book price reduction makes it all worth it, and of course all the lists and PDFs will make it onto the site eventually, but I did finally get to make some new Nisei U.S lists with it!
  11. Hi ! Let me just say you picked a great army to build. Brit paras are my Go-to carved out of wood tough as nails nut crackers. Good for defense and great for attack ( night fight! ) + Gammon bombs! So, get yourself the new Market Garden supplement book and You'll find some really awesome lists? Why this book over Overlord? A couple good points: John Frost: this warrior, much like the real guy, was a bad ass. The 75mm pack howitzer battery. 250 for 8 guns and for a mere 60 extra points you can buy medium gun support, giving you AT 5 FP +2!!! When conducting a repeat bombardment. If you use the double wide template ... It's wonderful. King Tigers don't like being under it. Second, Late 6 pdr AT guns! These things rock! In an airlanding list you can have three platoons of four. That's 12 AT 11 ROF 3 and 4+ FP, and HE! Tanks or soft targets melt quick , esp in ambush! Three, You can include Glider Pilots... Even more elite than the regular para. Aittle pricy but worth it for brutal assaults. I hate to say but unless I'm doing a themed thing , I'll take my paras from MGARDEN any day. Ask anything as I've painted and based a million paras and used them in Many tournaments. I also have many bits if you ever need stuff. Ok, go get that book! ($30) Cheers, Mike
  12. Here, here! That was a blast. Never saw so many KTs in my life. :) Looking forward to Early War ! Great job Steve! Nice to have met you all and see Ya next time.
  13. In order to get 1500 pts on the table I need to borrow two units. Soviet machinery: Kv-1e x3. And x3 BA-10s. I have everything else. Cheers, Michael
  14. Also, I've got some east front terrain if it can be of use. Rails and boxcars, wheat fields , thatch huts , Stalingrad ruins etc .
  15. I'm torn between my beloved 7th A.D Desert Rats or a Desperate HausFrau's Panzer Kompanie . I'm leaning German as I like a balanced red Vs blue tourny. So there, I've decided to go German! Count me in. Michael ( Astoria )
  16. Ok, I've picked my go to midwar list. Indians from Tunisia with Gurkha upgrade. See ya soon! Capitan, El grumpo.
  17. I can finally breathe now, hotel work is finally slowing down and look forward to rollin some dice later this month, Cheers, Michael
  18. I have my Indians and my beloved jock column of toughs . Or maybe honey Stuart's :) But I love EW and you can count me in!
  19. I may be able to make this happen, Finally. This'll would be my first FoW dice chuckin since leaving NorCal . I'll be building a British list for sure. Sounds fun! -Michael
  20. Very cool, glad to hear that there is a FoW buzz around here. I'm very much a tournament player, back in my native NORCAL FoW circuit...tournies were all the gaming I could fit in. But I love playing at shops in friendly games and setting up a mega-battle every now and again. My buddy Richard Barnes ( tantexto ) gave me this site link when I asked him about the FoW scene around Portland. I really like the CiC trophy idea, very cool! At least now I have some time to get painting again and try to open all my recent blisters and get everything undone....done. On my way up I stopped at the Tillamook air museum, I got really inspired , they had a Focke wulf, a lightning an Oscar, a Dakota Mustang , thunderbolt, Catalina...it was awesome. Any armor museums around?
  21. Hey everyone, Mike ( aka Grumpus ) here. I just moved up here to Astoria from central California and will be looking to roll some dice soon. My main focus is getting a job right now, so after I secure a job, I'll be up for some gaming. I have forces for all three eras and have a big collection of terrain. I'm foremost an Allied player, but just got most of what I need for a Kampfgruppe Greabner, desperate measures armored company, Otto Carius and friends , and every StuG needed for a batterie ( with a jillion Begleit riders to boot ) those are some great sculpts! I Have a Desert Rats armoured squadron, a Massive Brit Para army, Indian/ Sikh company, an 8th army company, A ton of late war Brit infantry and Brit Shermans. I just made up a beefy Nisei Company , I'm curious to see what changed in the new Italy Comp. What gaming stores do the FoW players frequent? Ok, just sayin hi and I'll be around to do some gaming later on! Cheers, Mike
