Well I am looking forward to throwing down with some 9th Age. I do miss moving ranks of little dudes around the table. However, I have been watching some stuff online about AoS and it looks like a lot of fun too, so I am looking forward to throwing down with it as well. As for 8th Edition 40K... I love it. Seriously. I have not had this much fun playing 40K ever. :D

Hello! My name is Will, and due to a recently accepting a new job, I will be moving from Portland to Bellingham! I'm super excited for the move and look forward to meeting all of you. I love all things 40K (I play Space Marines) and still maintain my WHFB Dwarfs army. I have been considering building an AoS army as well. As for playing games, I tend to be a narrative player more interested in the rule of cool, and lore based matches. I should be in town around the 18th of September, and I hope to be at my first game night around that time. P.S. Also, if anyone happens to know of someone will rent out a room for two months while I get myself settled into a more permanent housing solution please direct them my way. :D

I wouldn't call it pressure. People just happened to mention that it was an option. And if you model them correctly, you can use them in both 40K and AoS.

I played Mordheim on Xbox One, and I really didn't like it at all. There is no tutorial to explain the controls, or over head map to tell you where your units are in relation to each other. I just don't have the patience for games that don't respect my time any more.

So I started working on a small side project. A little something. I should have some photos soon. :D

I have to say, that I am really excited by this league. I have been loving 8th edition, but learning the rules has been tough. Not that the new rules are difficult to understand, but there is SOOOOOOO much to unlearn. And this league has been a great opportunity to break bad habits, and play with awesome people. So I will take a moment to thank @DisruptiveConduct for running this thing for us. And speaking of DisruptiveConduct..... Game 1 vs. Genestealers @ 25 Power Level So I decided to play my Imperial Consuls for this league. Which wasn't a hard choice since I only have two 40K armies, and the other one is three Imperial Knights. I used my 25 power to build out a Battaltion Detachment, but due to the restrictions of the game I ran it as a patrol detachment. It consisted of: Captain with Thunderhammer and The Shield Eternal Primaris Lieutenant with Boltrifle 5 man Tactical Squad with Combi-plas, chainsword, and missile launcher x2 5 man Intercessor Squad When used as a Battalion Detachment this grants me a total of 6 CP. But I was running this as a patrol det, so I went into the game with three. I then used 1 cp to grant my captain a relic. However, since I was using the Ultramarines chapter tactics, I picked the warlord trait that allows for me to regain spent CPs on a 5+ roll. So I wasn't worried about only have 2 CP. I had never faced genestealers before, and so I thought three troops choices with plenty of rerolls would be ideal. it would give me the versatility I would need to tackle just about anything. And with 9 leadership across the board, re-rolls in the morale phase, being able to fall back and shoot, and re-roll 1's to-hit and wound, AND having objective secured.... I was feeling very good about my life choices. The pictures don't really do the match justice because my phone died. But there were a lot of great moments, and tons of laughs. I got the win, and I learned genestealers are a neat army to play against. I look forward to pairing off again so that I can see how they operate with more units on the table.

Ok. The drive to Oregon City is going to stink, but this could be fun.

Would anyone be interested in doing battle on the weekend of the 19th (8/19 - 8/20)?

Mr. Andozane.... I am afraid to report that I am going to have to bow out of Sunday as well. Le sigh..............

Well, those closest FLGS to me is Red Castle. They have a good selection of terrain and the tables aren't packed. But I can go just about anywhere, although it will have to be after 3 pm.

So it looks like I will be working this Tuesday evening (on a related note, Smokey Bear will be making an appearance at the Oregon Zoo on Tuesday evening.). Would anyone be interested in playing this league scenario on Sunday evening (I'm also working this weekend. Fire season is a bitch)?

You don't have to play in the tournament. It is not required. I doubt I would participate. I don't know why I'm trying to sell this league to you. You do you dude. :D
