  2. The Infil-traitors have always been chaos based armies. We each use a Chaos God per player. Two of our players just shelled out serious money to build interesting armies for this tourney... Maybe the rule should be All or Nothing: Either everyone shares faction and different aspects or no one does? Update: we are all fine with using different codexes.
  3. This is my finalized list for OFCC. Still gotta paint the land raider crusader and Belial but the rest of the army is done and okay looking. Ill share better pics as I progress. Belial has heard there Fallen nearby and will do anything to get his hands on an informant. His CP from the Vanguard will be spent on Hunt the Fallen for some Lore funness.   4. This list turned out to be absolutely terrible and Ive started working on another possibly terrible Deathwing list.
  5. Very defensively first turn, then drop pods and high orbit as well form a strike force against my opponent. All the scouts and eliminators deploy behind an aegis line. Devestators in the Bastion. Infiltrators (see what i did there?) stop my opponent from deepstriking me where I dont want, and hopefully Ill have enough snipers to remove characters from play pretty early on. Hordes will probably stomp me. I'm not trying for any kind of high power level list at all. If I wanted to bring power, I'd bring 4 knights terryn. Instead, just something different and thematic. It IS meant to be a thematic reproduction of Vigilus Defiant Shadowspear, sans Malneus Calgar, tho I also plan on bringing a vast amount of Space Marines for the diorama which includes him.

  7. The DG-Morty player here from WestRider's team. The list went 4-1. The list was Morty as warlord, Typhus, 30 poxwalkers, 40 cultists, 3 blightcrawlers, a daemon prince and cheap elite characters. I didnt exactly sweep any boards, but he is a unit that must be dealt with immediately. But mostly my opponents complained quite a bit when he sliced through whole units in a turn, they would say "He's very OP." I hadn't tweaked the army at all, Mortarion just got into combat like he's meant to. Regarding power levels, so basically no super heavies or OP cheap units like Morty should be brought? I should expect my opponents are going to bring 70-100 model armies focused on anti-horde, or vehicles and monstrous creatures with T<6? Or a unit that can kill another unit in a turn? Castellan is 600 points. When does he become balanced? Once he's 900 points and not worth taking? He's fine how he is costed now. (Or if the GW nerf rumors are true, then that cost.) Played a game against daemon engines today with my 4 knight list, I lost all my knights and he was able to murder my cp battery. He brought an appropriate amount of lascannons and the game was really fun. Knights have big problems holding objectives. Personally, I don't think a knights only codex would be overpowered. My takeaway is that it is performance tweaks, not the models that you want to play should be left at home. Also, I believe in having some power variance in your teams. Not all players want to play horde armies. Otherwise: This is rock, scissors is fine, nerf paper.

  9. It is permissable for me to use a pewter Great Unclean One - Greater Daemon of Nurgle counts as a wingless Daemon Prince of Nurgle with a Hellforged Sword? The new Great Unclean One model is larger than Mortarion, and this is the same base as the current dpn.
  10. i got to play a game against the GSC and I overall love the feel of the army. It's quite different than most other armies out there, and this particular list like to use deepstrike and board edges. The Army overall loves to assault, and doesn't have a large amount of shooting, but from the codex it appears to have some interesting choices. Here's my votes for GCS and BA.
  11. I want to see GSC and make the astartes into two space marines variant slots, such as blood angels and ultras, since there is so much you can do in terms of gameplay with astartes. I also like the cad + 2, but it doesnt allow some hijinks that the various codexes have designed. I have found this tournament to be quite different than other tournaments, and incredibly refreshing. Two days can only mean double the fun.

  13. I fought a friendly game against Tau with my Necrons using the new rules and new models. It was something like (and I'm estimating, I don't have any pics.) 3 full fire warrior teams with a cadre fireblade in the trenches in the middle 8-9 inches in. Two las cannon broadsides on the opposing sides of the board (dawn of war deployment). On my right he had two Stormsurges, a Commander (who was not the warlord) with two Shield drones. In a separate formation with the Stormsurges, A Ghostkeel with (I think!) 4 drones? Ridiculous trying to shoot at that thing! Hiding was a unit of marker light throwers, I don't recall what they were.. pathfinders, markerlight drones?. And a Riptide in the front middle. On my side, I had 5 18 Necron Warriors lining the middle spread 1.7ish ( I need to get a spacer) with empty ghost arks in between, A Doomsday Ark to my extreme left in the corner and a 9 immortal/lordwithorb. Deathmarks and a monolith in deepstrike. --- Rolling the 4d6 twice x2 was actually only the fun part of the game, because it just wiped 18 necrons off the board within 12 of the ghostkeel. The main decurion formation allows him to fire all his units as a single unit, and some other rule says that if he doesn't move or.... (?) anyway, it basically gave his fire warriors melting power to just point click first blood approaching units. So many twinlinked, no cover, bs5 s5 ap4 shots. The ghostkeel moved in with those drones in tow and melted my arks. It feigned back on turn 3 when I began to get within 12, to keep me in his buff/debuff aura,and that ended up netting him so many points and VP. The Commander took the brunt of my fury, but so many look out sirs/saves kept him alive, while majestically behind him, at least 40 mega cheesy missiles rained down independent firingly onto my units.
