Thanks guys! So far I've played one game with them (with another lined up for next week). 1850pts against SW. Things worked about as planned. Rerolling to hit and wound Berzerkers with with 3 combat rounds made short work of his Thunderwolf Cav. Obliterators deep struck and made short work of his Longfangs and other backfield threats. Meanwhile the Blood Slaughterers chewed through everything else. I played too aggressively with the "Bikers" but they managed to harry a couple Tac squads.

2000+ pts are finished!

According to the ebay auction it's a Night Lords Helbrute...

Kharn is complete!

Has anyone found any tricks for making some of the old GW minis, particularly Marines, seem more in-scale with the current line? I've heard of adding a layer of plasticard to the bottom of the mini's feet to give it some extra height, but I haven't tried it yet. I have a classic Kharn mini I'd like to use, but the smaller scale makes him look ridiculous.

I had a couple hours free this weekend so I started working on Kharne, aka counts-as-Exalted Champion. WIP

Good point. I just meant the bikes. I still need to finish a squad of cultists, some bloodletters, and a couple HQ before the army is finished. After that I wouldn't mind adding a Lord of Skulls... I'll try and put together a group shot as soon as I can

With the exception of their magnetized guns, the Death Knights of Khorne are complete!

As Riley and Aaron can attest, I tend to paint mostly darker schemes, so my natural tendency is leaning me toward the black and white as well. For some reason the BnC version of that looks a bit boring to me though. I think it's the lack of contrasting color. It needs a shade of red to really pop

I had a classic Khorne CSM army way back in the days of 3rd edition. It was fully painted in the classic World Eater paint scheme, complete with Rhinos, Juggernauts, etc. Then I grew bored of 40k and foolishly sold the army. Flash forward to today and I want to put together another Khorne army. Granted, it helps that Berzerkers are pretty decent again. Unfortunately, the official Berzerker models haven't changed at all, looking incredibly dated, so I opted to use a quick kit bash of the AoS Blood Warrior model as my Berzerker. I didn't want to do the standard Khorne color scheme, so I spent some time browsing for other ideas. As I was perusing through google, I came across this image of a WoW Death Knight, and the army theme was born. This was the first model I painted for the army. He was originally used as a Paladin in a DnD campaign, now he's my Arthas look-a-like Dark Apostle. A shot of the first completed squad of Berzerkers A group shot of the Berzerkers and HQ. Looks great as always Aaron. I'll have to stop by HK one of these Thursdays and get a look at your armies in person.

Miniature quality will be a significant factor for me. All of the demo videos I've watched have compared the mini quality to Runewars, and I wasn't impressed by any of the models from that game. Also, who will be playing the Rebellion? I foresee a ton of Imperial on Imperial battles...

I'll be working on this squad of Blenders... I mean Berzerkers. I painted the lone painted mini last week to test the color scheme.

Photobucket no longer allows you to link your images to other sites for free. To do so you have to pay $400/yr. It was a stealth change they made to their ToS. It's why I transferred all my images and closed both my photobucket accounts. I use Imgur now.
