  1. I think myself and at least one or two of my Oldhammer friends are planning to be in, giving Old World another go.
  2. Yep, it sounds to me that if a unit suffering stupidity accidentally makes contact with another unit's front arc, the other player can choose to either A, commit to the combat (neither side counts as having charged) or B, give ground until there is an inch separating them from the unit suffering from stupidity. If the contact is to the flank or rear, or if the contacted unit is already in a fight, the contacted unit (and whoever they're fighting) must be nudged an inch away from the unit with stupidity. It sounds like there is no instance where a unit who has failed their leadership test for stupidity would ever count as having charged.
  3. Ok, I believe we have an answer to this on page 150. Supporting attacks start being lost if a unit takes a greater number of casualties than the number of models in the front rank.
  4. It does not, nor do you get +1 to your armor class by being on a horse. Generally expect many units to have slightly poorer armor than in previous editions of whfb. On the bright side, high strength values no longer decrease armor. So you'll no longer be losing a point off of all of your armor saves just because you're fighting a block of str 4 models. Only weapons that explicitly have an armor penetration value, (or the armourbane quality on a natural 6) will reduce your armor save.
  5. Nice find! I'd be keen to jump in and play a bit of 6e (or 7e corebook with 6e army books) if there's enough local interest.
  6. As Spencer mentioned, I've set up a discord server about it to try and encourage local interest. One of my projects over this summer is going to be to demo Oathmark to new people whenever I find the opportunity. I think I'm going to do it at game stores when possible on the off chance I catch attention from spectators. We'll see how it goes. It'll probably be a while before I can scare up enough people for a campaign format, but I don't mind staying in demo mode for quite a while.
  7. While retainers have no specific meaning as a game term in saga, there are a couple of things you could choose to do with those figures. The first, which Ish suggested, is to make a diorama of your Warlord, on anything up to a 60mm base. The second is to interpret your retainers as hearthguard (who are fielded as units of 4 or more models on foot or mounted). Your warlord has a special rule that allows you to sacrifice the lives of nearby hearthguard to prevent hits that they would suffer. So keeping a few hearthguard in close proximity of your warlord is prudent gameplay. Finally, there is a hero called a personal champion, who you may take as a single figure that provides a few protective benefits when they are near your warlord.
  8. I'm told 5 points is intended to keep the games a little bit faster so that we can complete 3 games by day's end. We'll probably get a clearer picture of turnout as more people chime in yea or nay over the next couple of weeks. Our regular saga meetups bring 4 to 6ish people. So if I were to spitball a guess, I'd expect 5 people who I see a lot of plus a couple of less familiar faces.
  9. I had a lot of fun doing Oathmark in September. I'm happy to jump back into it whenever people start looking for games again.
  10. Sorry, taking care of a sick pet tonight. I won't be making it for necromunda.
  11. I should make it tomorrow either for Oathmark or Necromunda.
  12. I get the impression that the second champion will serve some sort of purpose in the campaign? Something like one action per champion in the various campaign turns?
  13. Can't say I'm 100% caught up on how the new necromunda rules have evolved. Will this campaign be using tactics cards?
  14. One rule I think we played wrong tonight. Revisiting the rulebook, it looks like units get to roll the Champion Die even when they're attacked to the flank or the rear. It seems to not matter that the champion is in the center of the front rank. Also, apparently you can't shield if you are down to only one combat die.
  15. I think I have plans next thursday, but should be available the 14th or 16th.
  16. Doesn't sound like any other oathmark players will be there tonight, so I'll stay home.
  17. I plan on being there for Oathmark Edit: Nevermind, I'm staying home this week
  18. Sad there are no leaks for the battleboard of the House of Sasan! I guess I'll have to wait another month to see what they have in store.
  19. Special formations from bane of kings too?
  20. Where are number of territories related to the total possible point cost of an army you can field? I thought it only related to the diversity of troop types you could choose from. Is this something that was added to the campaign system after the core book?
  21. Surely somebody has contrived a way to run it as an escalation league.
  22. Had a great first game with @Damunky. My elves squared off against a force of mostly Orcs and Goblins. I won at the cost of 2/3ds of my soldiers. Morale was the defining factor in the fight. I didn't appreciate the elves point value until I saw how you really need to kill them to the last man (last elf?) to get them off the table. They're expensive, but you get your points worth. I'm really impressed with the game. I'll be very busy next week, but I look forward to catching some more matches after!
