From what I understand named characters are allowed to be added to your crusade roster, but are not eligable to gain experience or be customized. They are considered legendary and have their Warlord Trait and Relic locked in. Some characters even have special crusade rules.

@Tao Tsê-Mung I know there is a lost artifact of Vulkan somewhere around this system. You must be hiding it! Once we are done kicking it with the locals we will come pick it up from you. See you at 5, have it boxed up and ready. 🔥
