Come one, come all. The Senate will be convening to discuss club business and ask any one interested in proceedings or possibly running an event or any other club related business. Join us for some top level nerditry!
  11. Welcome back, everyone! That’s right. The Senate of Ordo Fanaticus is plotting to put on the best wargaming event in the PacNW, a little thing we like to call the Ordo Fanaticus Club Challenge. No, this is not your run of the mill tournament. This is not a one day GT. This is not a tournament held at a convention. This is OFCC (not Sparta). It is an event we, the Senate, treasure enough to host each year. We do it to celebrate YOU, the Ordo Fanaticus Community. We want to repay you for all that you do for everyone else here on the boards, at your local gaming stores, and the spirit you bring with you to all of your games. Now, down to business. OFCC is hosted by Ordo Fanaticus. We reserve 14,000 sqft of glorious, beautiful gaming space in downtown Vancouver for 3 days of gaming. We fill it with tournaments or gaming events run by individuals of the community. We call these people Heads of Gaming or HoGs. This post is our way to solicit you for submissions to be a HoG at the next OFCC, running August 24, 2018, through August 26, 2018. If you want to be a HoG, send a submission with the following criteria to me via PM. We want a number of different gaming systems and events going on all weekend. Please, contact us, and let us know your idea. Even if you do not have all the details, put as much as you can into a submission and we can work with you to see how we can include it at OFCC. Your admissions should be in this format (we even fill out some of it for you). o What: <Event Title> o When: OFCC 2018, August 24 thru August 26 o Where: The Hilton in Downtown Vancouver o Why: o Number of Players (min/max): o Number of Days: One, two, or even three day events can be considered o Event Style: GT, Round Robin, Swiss pairings, etc. Go into as much detail as possible if there is no standard to compare to. o Budget: Monetary costs for tournament supplies, printing costs, awards, trophies, etc. o Missions and Scenarios: Get creative with it! o Point Value: o Scoring: We want to invite you to do scoring as you see fit with one of caveat: Sportsmanship is REQUIRED. We focus on Sportsmanship more than winning and want to celebrate all aspects of the hobby including generalship and painting. o Achievements and Awards: Extra things for your players to add fun and dynamic new twists. Your proposal should include a brief summary of your vision for the event and why you wish to be Head of Gaming. If selected, you will work with the Campaign Czar (that’s me, DisruptiveConduct) and others on the Senate in designing, organizing, and running the event. As an OFCC event, you may be required to make changes based on the needs of the event and to maintain the spirit of the event. This is especially true for our usual premiere events, the Team 40k 2 day and the Team Infinity event. Due to the potentially high number of projected participants, the HoGs for those systems should be prepared to be flexible with their proposal. The last day to submit for HoG is December 9, 2017. The final selections for HoGs will be made in January 2018. Please start drafting your submissions as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to myself, ninefinger, or Raindog. We are all available to help.
  12. Please see this thread for information and to post up if you can be there! Thanks!

  20. 40k 8th Edition Escalation League Week 7 Mission *************************************************************************** Here we go again. Just two more times around we go. Week 7. 1250 points or 63 Power Level. I want to see some game faces tomorrow night. I want to see hunger (and not just for chips). I want to see you pushing your units to the max. Let’s show the present how the future God Emperor deals with problems: WAR. MISSION 7 – Total Tactical Success Armies: All armies shall be 1250 points or 63 PL, Battleforged, must qualify for a Patrol Detachment (if you can fit more, go for it! No Brigades, yet though. Any combination of Patrol, Battalion, Vanguard, Spearhead, Outrider, or Auxiliary Support Detachment is fine.). Battlefield: Setup terrain on a 6x4. Make sure there is a variety of terrain as the Advanced Rules contain entries for craters, ruins, battlefield debris and other cool things (all of which should be in the terrain room or tubs)! Setup 6 tactical objective markers (numbered 1 thru 6) as detailed on page 226 of the Rulebook. Deployment: Dawn of War Deployment (12 and 12). Roll off and winner chooses deployment zone. Alternate deploying units with winner of deployment placing first. Deploy units so that they are wholly within your deployment zone. First Turn: The player who finished setting up their army first can choose to take the first or second turn. If they decided to take the first turn, their opponent can seize the initiative on a roll of a 6. Objectives: Maelstrom of War: Deadlock is the objective. Follow all the rules on page 235 to play the mission including the Battle Length, Victory Conditions, and the Strategic Deadlock Special Rule. Game Length: At the end of round 5, the player who is winning, rolls a d6. On a 3+ the game goes to round 6. At the end of round 6, the other player rolls a d6, on a 4+, the game goes to round 7. Game is over at the end of round 7. Victory Conditions: At the end of the game, the player who has scored the most victory points is the winner. If both players have the same number of victory points, the player with the lower Battle Points or Power Level is the winner. Special Rules: Strategic Deadlock: From the start of the third battle round, the Command Point cost of all Stratagems used by players is doubled. ***I will have copies of the mission printed out and available at the club.***
  21. 40k 8th Edition Escalation League Week 4 Mission *************************************************************************** This week in the league, we will be hitting 1000 points. That means quite a few things. First off, we are switching to 6x4 tables. I know, I know. Who will you rub butts with if we are all playing on 6x4’s? The answer lies in rolling for Tactical Objectives! That’s right. In 8th edition, GW was sure to include Maelstrom War missions using Tactical Objectives. These missions proved very popular in 7th edition and I would like to visit them in this new edition. MISSION 4 - Grit The grand recruiting days are here. The Imperial Navy of Hydraphur needs fresh meat! They have put out the the call far and wide and many groups have come to the training grounds to prove their mettle. The Navy wants forces of great acumen along with a taste for war. They have setup a tactical battle simulation war zone for the new comers to compete in. Come prove your worth and join the Imperial Navy! Armies: All armies shall be 1000 points or 50 PL, Battleforged, must qualify for a Patrol Detachment (if you can fit more, go for it! Since we are using Tactical Objective markers, place 6 objectives, numbered 1-6 on the battlefield. Note the deployment map below requires you to place Objective 1 and Objective 6 in specific places (18” away from each other, 9” away from center point of table). Objectives 2-4 are placed by each player outside of either deployment zone. Roll off to determine who places first. Place each objective more than 12” from any other objective and more than 6” from any table edge. Deployment: Please see below image for Altered Front-Line assault deployment. Tactical Objectives: This mission uses Tactical Objectives. If, at the start of a player’s turn, they have fewer than 3 active Tactical Objectives, they must generate Tactical Objectives until they have 3. Precious Cargo: In this mission, both players can achieve any active Tactical Objectives titled ‘Secure Objective X’, regardless of which player generated it. In addition, these Tactical Objectives can only be discarded when achieved. In addition to Achieving Tactical Objectives, victory points are achieved for the following: Steal the Loot: If, at the end of the game, one player has achieved more ‘Secure Objective X’ Tactical Objectives than their opponent has, that player receives 1 additional victory point. Slay the Warlord: If the enemy Warlord has been slain during the battle, you score 1 victory point. First Blood: The first unit, of any kind, to be destroyed during the battle is worth 1 victory point to the opposing player at the end of the game. If two or more units from opposing forces are destroyed simultaneously, then both players get 1 victory point. Linebreaker: If, at the end of the battle, you have at least one model within the enemy’s deployment zone, you score 1 victory point. Special Rules: Restoratives: Each player may pick a friendly unit at the start of their turn. Roll a d6. On a 5+, that unit regains D3 lost wounds. ***I will have copies of the mission printed out and available at the club.***
  22. Date: Tuesday, August 29, 2017 Time: 4pm to 10pm (we sometimes close later) Location: 717 SE Main St. Portland OR 97214 (map) - Around the corner from Kokiyo Teriyaki and up the stairs Cost: $5 for Ordo Members, $2 for Ordo Warlord Champions, FREE for Emperors! And as always, your first Game Night is FREE! Games we play: We will be continuing the 40k 8th Edition Escalation League tonight. We always have tables open for Blood Bowl, Infinity, AoS, SWA, or whatever game you want to play (one of the rooms even has natural sunlight!). Note: Although it is possible to find a pickup game at Game Night, it is much better to prearrange a game before coming down. Hope to see you there! It is going to be hot. Not as hot as Sunday and Monday, mind you.
  23. To get an idea of what to include in the upcoming 40k escalation league, we will be doing some matches at the three Tuesday Game Nights leading up to OFCC. This Tuesday, I invite you and your friends to come get a game of 8th edition 40k using Power Level Points. Most people say that 100 Power Level Points is equivalent to 2000 points. For the sake of learning and maybe getting in two games, let's do 50 Power Level Points on 4x4 tables. These games will be mainly to get people to the club and have a casual intro to the new rules. These games will help determine the format and missions included in the escalation league I plan to start after OFCC. Please keep an eye on the threads here in the 40k section for more details. I'll be there around 5 to get some tables setup and challenge someone with 50 Power level points of my Genestealer Cult! Hope to see you there.
  24. Date: Tuesday, July 11th Time: 4pm to 10pm (we sometimes close later) Location: 717 SE Main St. Portland OR 97214 (map) - Around the corner from Kokiyo Teriyaki and up the stairs Cost: $5 for Ordo Members, $2 for Ordo Warlord Champions, FREE for Emperors! And as always, your first Game Night is FREE! Games we play: We will be doing some exploring of 40k 8th edition tonight. We also always have tables open for Blood Bowl, Infinity, AoS, SWA, or whatever game you want to play (grabass is relegated to the room of shame). Note: Although it is possible to find a pickup game at Game Night, it is much better to prearrange a game before coming down to avoid disappointment. Hope to see you there! P.S. It's gonna be 7/11 and that means free slushees at the 7/11 down the street. They might just be worth the sugar rush.
  25. Raindog
