Tempting Kickstarters

Recommended Posts

Jim, check your $19 level. You have $19 for $12 worth of items. I'm guessing that's an oops!

Nope, no mistake - the extra $7 is for shipping. At the higher pledge levels I can afford to eat the shipping myself, but it's the smaller orders that would kill me with shipping. By having that level, I was able to keep the price of the individual terrain pieces lower (rather than absorbing the cost of shipping across all items).

Thanks to all who have supported! Funded in 57 minutes!

3k in under 9 hours Jim... you going to Disneyland or what?

Almost! I mopped the floor and am in the process of washing and freezing over 100 pounds of blueberries. Does that count? :) Thanks again for your support, all! I'm thrilled with how things are going, and while I'm going to have a busy summer, I'm looking forward to it.

I'm told, that Tuesday, there will be a launching of a kickstarter that is doing game mats.  These will be like mouse-pad style mats, with CCG style and such, however, there's also going to be mats that are measured out for games like X-wing/Star Trek, and there is at least one mat that will be 3x3 for smaller miniature games.  I don't have a link because it's not live of course, but I'll throw one out there when it launches.

Scarecrow Video has one of the largest collections, possibly the largest collection of publicly accessible videos in the world, including many that have only a handful of surviving copies. However, the video rental market being what it is these days, they're no longer viable as a business, so they're looking to raise money to fund the transition to a non-profit organization that can keep this amazing collection together and publicly available: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/644154729/the-scarecrow-project

If you have the money to fund this guy's Kickstarter, please consider funding my time machine instead.

Fat Boy's Nerd Emporium

I have no 3d printer at the moment and they are very expensive. I do, however, have the know-how and other physical equipment to make this happen. Even if I can't figure out how to print something at first I will keep going until I can figure it out.

Whew! Finished up my KS at a bit over $19k - thanks to everyone who supported it! I've got a busy couple of months ahead of me!

Saw this one for X-Wing asteroids. This is the best solution to 3-D asteroids I've seen. They look great, and don't interfere with gameplay: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1716406738/starscapes

I did something similar for Battlefleet Gothic asteroids, worked out pretty well.

Also, congrats Jim!
