MoonWyrd
Hard to tell how this will shake out, but according to this Beast of War post http://www.beastsofwar.com/warcradle-studios/warcradle-studios-acquires-dystopian-firestorm-settings/ the intellectual property has been bought. If anything come of this maybe this sub-forum will need a name change.

spagunk
Huh, interesting. Wonder how that will pan out for them.
andozane
Interesting stuff... Short summary:- Dystopian Wars and Wild West Exodus will be folded into a new setting- Wild West Exodus will be part of the FSA background- The supernatural elements in WWX will get scientific explanations (no more magic)- Other factions from the Dystopian Wars universe may be introduced to WWX- Armoured Clash returns as a 10mm game This was taken from http://ttfix.blogspot.com/
spagunk
Kind of cool but I don't envy their commitment to merge both DW and WWX together. I mean it definitely sounds interesting but it's really ambitious.
Guest
So how is this one going? No thread updates since december 2017...

Lazeye89
I am not liking the lore changes in the dystopian wars verse that are being perposed by warcradle. Basically, the whole alternative WWI political state is nixed? Africa is a land battle sand box now where every land battle in the world will be taking place? And, all navel engagements have a gentleman's agreement to be fought away from land on the open oceans so that there is no collateral damage? what kind of feel good bumper cars war style is this!? am i hearing this correctly?! what are others thoughts on this change? I hope I'm not just yelling in the wind haha
MoonWyrd
haven't been tracking the lore changes for Dystopia Wars. If what you say is true it's disappointing. Some of the most interesting (naval) DW games I've play included land. Islands, peninsula(s), shore. Just a big expanse of water sounds boring. Brother Glacius
They are also releasing Armored Clash, the land version. However, I think the scale between the naval and land are now going to be different. Lets face it, it was very ambitious of Spartan to try to have all three in a single rule set. I never played a combined game other than air and sea.
MoonWyrd
Played combined air/sea and air/land, never air/sea/land. Although I recall it being discussed (among the players present), and the conclusion being it would require a some what larger area of play and a bigger block of time. Guest
I always thought that (air+sea+ground) aspect of the game sounded cool, but it never felt like the terrain caught up with the idea.
Stoobert
FYI for those still interested... Two years on from this purchase, it's pretty clear that Warcradle's primary interest in Spartan was Dystopian Wars which is aligned/merged with Wild West Exodus. They are still separate games, sort of (it's complicated) but both getting rebooted models and rules. Selected Firestorm Armada models are available again in limited runs via Warcradle directly. FSA 3.0 rules gets an occasional mention but nothing released as of yet. The Halo property was lost in the sale (licensing) and there is no mention of Uncharted Seas yet either.
Brother Glacius
Waiting on my free 3rd ed rule book. They could definitely do a better job promoting this stuff though. Been quiet for a while.
