BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 7 Where is the best meeting place halfway between Portland and Bellingham? We should try to get a 3 game mini tournament in November.

BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 8 Shoooooot, if i had room at my place to have like 4 tables i totally would be down to host. There is Mox in Seattle & Bellevue, I think they only have 4 tables. I dont know how hard it would be to reserve them.
valourunbound 210 Report post Posted October 8 I think somebody mentioned Game Matrix a while back. https://www.thegamematrix.com/ They appear to have 6x4s, so that's a start.
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 8 That could work, I can try to see if they let people reserve tables ahead of time
Yarbicus 671 Report post Posted October 9 MOX Bellevue has a whole tournament room that could be used. Don't know about scheduling, though. You might also check Heroic Knight games. Frankly, I could probably host a 3 table get together at my house. But you would have to bring the pizza and beer. 1 TheBeninator reacted to this
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 9 Depends on how many people we could get to show up. If the Bellingham guys and the Portland guys travel we could have a good sized group. Wouldn’t want to impose that on anyone to host. But if it is a small group, I gladly would bring beer and pizza.
OreoGolem 13 Report post Posted October 10 Next step would be a dry-test for scheduling, right? Make up a date, ask a host location if they have capacity for.... 8? What's our estimate number? Then turn around and ask people in our communities would do such. Assume like 40-50% chance of follow through from respondents.

BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 10 I was hoping 8-10 people. But any number we can get would be good, as long as it makes people’s drive worth while
valourunbound 210 Report post Posted October 10 I foresee @TheBeninator and I meeting at @Andrewgeddon's and carpooling up there. Preferably on the 2nd, 23rd or 30th.
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 10 Could make those days work. 23rd is thanksgiving weekend so might be hard to get people, but we can ask around. I'll put up a poll in the PNW 9th Age Facebook group and see what people want. Also could do it here. Idk if there are poll options here
Andrewgeddon 720 Report post Posted October 10 Are we thinking for a 1 day event? 2 days might be hard to swing, but a 1 day sounds doable. 100% can't do it on Thanksgiving weekend, 30th sounds good though
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 10 For sure a 1 day thing. Thinking 2-3 games, doesnt have to be super formal tournament style or anything like that. Just trying to get some people to come out and play games 🙂
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 10 I feel like we have good turnout for local GTs, should try to do more small events in between tournaments to grow interest. Also gives people chances to test new lists and such if they dont get many games in on a regular basis.
OreoGolem 13 Report post Posted October 10 I've responded to the facebook message and forwarded the questionaire to Conor and the others in my neck of the woods. 1 TheBeninator reacted to this
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 10 Hmmmm so turns out Thanksgiving is the weekend later than I thought. So the 30th is the weekend of Thanksgiving.
TheBeninator 316 Report post Posted October 10 I bet Cody could make a 1 day GT no problem, he is always DTF (down to Fantasy Battles; The Ninth Age) 😁 1 BenKerr reacted to this
OreoGolem 13 Report post Posted October 23 Where's the thoughts on this November at this point?
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 23 I have reached out to Mox's in Bellevue for reserving some tables for us. That seems like a pretty good halfway point for people. November 16th is looking like the best Saturday for people. So that is the tentative date, I am waiting to hear back from Mox's, I'll relay more information when I hear back from them. Goal is to have 4-6 tables for us to use, play 2 or 3 games, we can do random matchups or whatever people would like to do. We would use the latest ruleset/point update that just came out. BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 23 So Mox has another tournament going on that day in their tournament hall. We are more than welcome to use their wargaming room, they have 4 tables, so enough to accommodate 8 players. I’m still down to do it if people want to come down/up.
TheBeninator 316 Report post Posted October 24 I’m interested, I imagine we could fill 8 slots pretty easily. With 3 rounds that’s pretty simple pairing. you should start a thread for it. I’ll tag a bunch of folks to make sure they see it. You down to be the TO for it?
BenKerr 51 Report post Posted October 25 Sooooo my boss said I probably are gonna have to work that weekend 😞 im gonna see today if I can get out of it. I'll get back to you guys. If I do have the day off, I would be fine playing ringer/TOing if necessary. If it doesnt work, I for sure could do something in January after the holidays are all done. 1 TheBeninator reacted to this
OreoGolem 13 Report post Posted October 28 I actually had a similar problem. I work at a small business and half the staff is going to Bellevue (a funny moment of coincidence) to operate a sports tournament on the 16th. I'll be at work until 1pm. Conor is not available due to a tickets to a LARP or something. What a nerd. Whether this bird flies or not, I'd be down to trying again in January.
