Ish
The only time I need to adjust the settings on my Adventurer 3 is when I switch from PLA to ABS filament, or vice-versa. If I replace like with like, it just keeps chugging along without needing any tweaks. Resin is, of course, far superior for fine details. Torg
getting my Anycubic Photon S required a little adjustment - but after everything was level and I got good exposure times things were good until I got into different resin bottles / manufacturers. Then again some test prints to get adjusted. The FEP (the film at the bottom of the resin tray) wears out - or sometimes needs to be replace - and getting things dialed in after that change can be tedious as well. But I think the support on the inter webs is pretty good with the forums and facebook groups for help. Fumes - if your inventive - its not a big deal to work out some sort of exhaust set up. -d
PumpkinHead
Does anyone know someone who is 3d printing plasma exterminator arms for inceptors? I have the stock ones from the last box set so I don't want to have to go buy new models.
Brother Glacius
Would the monoprice MP delta pro be a decent printer to get? Its currently on sale and seems like a great way to get started for the price point.

My mainboard went out on 2 printers and no replacements are available. Monoprice is def a lowend printer. If you want to get a taste for printing and it's really cheap, then go for it. I'd consider it disposable. There is lots of community support and you tube help for the ender 3, which has a good middle price point. Sgt. Rock
Get an Ender 3. I got two Monoprice printers to start, they both broke, and MP support couldn't sell me parts, they just said "send it back, we'll send you a new one." Wasn't worth the hassle. My Ender is finicky sometimes, but it's a much better printer.
Brother Glacius
Has anyone been printing Warmaster scale (10mm)? Just curious what the better option is for that. I would guess resin...but that just seems scary to me...or just hazardous.
Torg
I've been printing EPIC stuff on my older resin (anycubic photon S)... does a good job. The new mono looks good - with the new LCDs being a revolution in speed and detail. The resins are hazardous - and require some care when dealing with them. But the results can be really nice. -d
jesselowe
Resin for sure. One of the guys from the 2ps in a pod podcast is printing himself a warmaster army. Give a listen: http://www.2psinapod.com/
Brandon
Elegoo Saturn finally came in! 3 of us got them at once. Darn Amazon. So far I have used the wrong support settings, but everyone else has been printing away no problems. Detail is just as good as GW models. Love it so far! PS 2 Drop pods can print in this thing.

Same price point now. Saturn doesnt have wifi though:( So I have to walk to my Garage (which I have to anyways) to load up and start a print. Prints look great on the Mighty! Sgt. Rock
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4688873 For those brushlickers who use the back of their thumbs as a palette... I just printed one of these today, and I'm going to give it a test run tonight.
Brother Glacius
damnit...I'd really like to get this. But the fact is I just don't know if I'd use it enough to warrant the cost and effort. Thought I'd share though as it seems like a great deal for the results and size. Justjokin
That good feeling of your printer working pretty well, right out of the box! I think the center of the image says that I'm slightly over exposed... and/or my resin is old. I'm following this video on a new printer: (1) How to Dial In ANY Resin for the Perfect Print! - YouTube I'm using Chitubox with the default profile for Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. This is with slightly expired Elegoo resin. Test file: Resin XP2 Validation Matrix https://github.com/Photonsters/Resin-... Settings: Any questions or comments welcome! 2
Brandon
Eeeks!! Changing my FEP right now and going to re-level! I havent used the printer in a week or 2 and it is printing bad! 1
Brandon
FEP Changed, releveled and re-zeroed. MUCH better! I think I didn't let the resin warm up enough and sit long enough so I had some bad bubbling at first:/ Still not perfect, but it is a great benchmark to start. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix some of the issues they see on the test square? Thank you for the test file and the video! It is so easy to quickly print off a test square to see how the printer is doing. Im going to do this every time I use the printer now.
Justjokin
Moving my printer and resin out of the garage made a world of difference. Between getting up to temp, and using unexpired (me) resin, my next steps will be incrementing my exposure time down, maybe. I love the test square too, it's quick and not a waste of too much resin if it goes wrong. Your second set looks much better! The bubbles are odd, especially how there seems to be a pattern. Maybe jiggle your vat lightly after pouring the resin in to 'free' some of the bubbles? Do you think the piece warped when you removed it, or did it lose adhesion to the build plate? If this isn't a resin age/temp issue, then it might be a little overexposed. I'm still learning myself. Keep it up!! 2
Sgt. Rock
It must be nice to have a printer that works so readily... >.< I'm about ready to sell mine for scrap.
Justjokin
That your Ender, or 2 monoprices?
Sgt. Rock
Ender. I sent the Monoprices back before I got it. The Ender spends almost as much time out of commission as running, and has produced more failed prints than successful ones. I'm beginning to think I'm just bad at it. 1
