Make it happen.  I think this one has 5 games, so you're shooting for 3-2? Should be doable with Da' Orks.  Go git 'em.

Update?

Lost game 3 to harlequins because we were taking too long. He got his T3 and I did not so he won with killing something which also gives kill more, 2 secondaries, and holding. I was leading by one 1.

So I might of killed more on my turn. At least held more, killed a thing, butchers bill and recond. Maybe a few head hunters.

Need to learn to move faster or move less when not needed

I hate the idea of play clocks but I have kind of come to the conclusion that 8e just requires it. 😞At LVO, if one player wants to use the clock, you use the clock.  I used it every game.  Paid off.

Don't worry.  Keep fighting.

I need to get better. It will be easier now that I am not using the AoS version of "Wholly Within" which is entire base while 40k uses any portion of that base but the entire units needs at least a millimeter or so within. ( it's in the BRB faq)

This means my KFF range is 20" around on 32mm bases and not 18" which is pretty important

Basically how people toe in cover, I get to toe in KFF range... Silly me. I should of seen the similarities sooner.

40K does actually use the same definition of "wholly within" as AoS. The thing with Cover is that it uses different wording ("entirely within"), so it ends up being a slightly looser condition to satisfy than something like the KFF which specifies "wholly within".

Lost game 4 to salamanders with knight player named Harry. I nuked the knight with my Souped Up Shokk Attack Gun which was nice. We both agreed had it gone on I would of tabled him.

Game 5 was against a fantastic gsc player named Tyler who put up with my belly aching over how much better Acolytes are to boys for the same point cost (seriously, they only have 1 less toughness which is big but yeesh). It was my first game against gsc and my opponent didn't know their improvised heavy weapons didn't have a penalty to hit anymore... I won though handedly with him forgetting to vect my attack interrupt which killed 13 Purestrain Genestealers and later wiped them out to morale...

My win 22 and 14 putting 3 and 2 for my first 40k big tournament. Pretty cool. Need to work better on game time

It was fine. I never felt as if I wasn't in control of the games though. That is big I think. It means to me despite my mistakes my method of play I still felt I could win

Oh yeah?  That's pretty great.  Remembering your rules is a thing too.  I always play a list AT LEAST 5 times before I draw any conclusions or make any kind of significant changes.  So if you can play your army and feel good about the rules and its tolerances, you're in the money!  It only gets better from there.

That army was really nicely painted/converted, I thought. Scaly Rhinos and such. A proper Salamander's army.

Actually I messed up. For some reason I thought nobs were all T5 (Warboss's are)... But they are T4. Not sure why I got that wrong... Oh well.

My army feels good but I need to learn what are the easiest things points wise for me to get. I need to learn this because I bleed max reaper, and Marked for death points and if not careful butchers bill. So I need to control, kill, hold, and hold more as often as possible

Yussir, you do give up some points easily.  That's why Mobbing up is so critical.  You must get those extra 10 boyz into the list and mob them up because when they catapult/Deep Strike/advance into the enemy faces, you cannot afford for attrition to drain you and give away kills too quickly.  Gretchen are easy kills and a lot of competitive builds have a lot of them.  It's also easier to get CP's that way.  But what I saw happening at LVO is that the Gretchen were used way too statically, and I think I would have used them to advance and run from cover to cover to get to things rather than lining up to be Gretchen shielding in masse.  Being that close to the Lootaz doesn't seem necessary to the gretchen shield rules so...  How many rounds of Gretchen shielding do you REALLY need?  3?

I've been thinking a lot about that question.  Not sure i know the answer yet.  Need more games with my orks but it will be a while before i can get more games in.  Kind of on a T'au Empire trip atm.  Just had my first test game with the new list, against Ynnari.  Lost 27-26 but easily could have won it so I am gonna' keep testing THAT out.

In the meantime continue to regale us with your ork tales of daring 'do so that we may learn from them.

I'm pretty sure I've faced your T5 nobs before.
