The list is the take all comers list I can come up with but it is ultimately pretty standard. It's nothing spectacular but it is versatile and dangerous. Add in that I leave myself enough points for a Assassin of any kind and I have a pretty decent set up I think.

The fluff comes next in the Second post as spoilers like to run together if you are not careful

So... Because of this nugget

I make just make a Ork Count as Deathwatch army with Grot Kadians and an Ork Knight Krusader

In the Watch of Octarius Sector and the fight of the Ork Warboss the Overfiend and Hive Fleet Leviathan the Deathwatch of Fortress Furor Shield prepares for combat.

With the appearance the of Ghazskull rallying the Overfiends forces and the withdrawal of Leviathan, Watch Commander of Furor Shield uses the Inquistorial power given by Inquistor Kryptman to fight the rising Ork threat and clear remaining strands of Hive Fleet Leviathan from the sector. With the advent of the Cicatrix Male dictum opening up warp space to random incursions of various xeno and heretical warbands the Watch Commander brings in the remains of the 110th Cadian Artillery Regiment known as the Shadow Corps and the Countess Awomia who pilots The Knight Crusader Sileo Redemptia in service of House Krast into the an adhoc command of Watch Master Falcoris who leads Watch Company Falcoris for the duration.

What threats will this amalgamation of war encounter? What will they overcome? What will stymie their efforts? Only time will tell. There is always one thing they can rely on. There will always be another battle for them to face.

I approve of this. Good luck finding that many storm bolters though.

Munitorum Shipping Containers. They're like $8 per 6 on Hoard o' Bits, and you could probably get them even cheaper by just finding someone who bought the Containers and didn't use the guns. Or just take two Bolters, shave down one side of each, and glue 'em together.

I fought the Castellan version of this list.  It was pretty effective.

Seems...insufficient against certain armies, but I'm a n00b again.

It will wreck a vehicle per round with fair ease.  The storm shields play big as i learned.  He likely Deep strikes the veterans in and unleashes with sotmrbolter fury and those are quite good at 12" range.  The mauls and lances are an interesting choice and one you could debate but i like that he's using them.

I think i would probably add the Mortars to the IG squads though to bury them deeper and protect them against counter battery fire.  Also, because it reduces the number of units you have to drop.  Just food for thought.

thermal cannon will do it.

Thermal Cannon is really lack luster. I have a Renegade knight with dual Thermal Cannons, and it's a big waste. It just looks really cool. 2d6 "lascannons" shots just isn't enough for ~500pts.

thermal cannon is the melta if i recall?  I might be wrong.  Not a Knight expert but 2D6 lascannons is a lot if it isnt the Melta one...but i thought ti was.

Yes, but it's S9, so it's basically a lascannon. Better AP, slightly less total range, and that melta damage roll within half range, but against most targets it's indistinguishable from a lascannon.

Yeah so re-rolling damage is a huge feature.  It matters.

They don't re-roll damage. 2 dice, pick the highest, which is better anyway. That said, doesn't increase the min or max damage in the slightest. So it's only better in terms of averages.

And most targets worth shooting will have invulnerable saves, or hit penalties, or ignores damage abilities. With 2x thermal cannons, I have ~7 shots per turn for 500pts. Even with ideal conditions, it's still only ~4 hits and ~3 wounds on most targets worth shooting. And in ideal conditions target's worth shooting will only have a 5++, so 2 wounds. Damage output is about 7 per turn, which is crap for the points invested.

Mine has 2x thermal cannons because I think they look really cool.

Anyway, I'm just debating the value of the thermal cannon. I think Lyraeus' list looks fine. Seems a bit soft for him, but he's probably got some combo in mind that I don't see.

You seem to think I am some just obliterating monster... Harsh.

I am not a WAAC player. I like to win yes and I will do it in a direct manner but I don't sell my soul to win. I don't like taking bad choices though and I hate losing because I messed up somewhere

I'd look at putting a thunder hammer/storm shield on the watch captain. Makes him much more surviveable.

Yea his main thing is the Beacon Angelus. You drop him down where you want preferably in cover, pop the beacon move an entire DW squad surrounding him and voila instant character protection.

I don't think he will hit combat much but I am going to be testing this out

Guard becomes a less mobile screen then because I will be Move Move Moving them around to better screen and push out opponent like GSC and such.
