Brick Bungalow
Does the chainsaw player have to make an armor roll: 1. When placed prone using wrestle skill? 2. When stunned by pitch invasion? The entry for chainsaw says 'knocked down for any reason'. The question is whether every instance of being down is the same as being knocked down.
Weav
Great question, but I don’t think either of your scenarios qualify as a ‘knock down’. Being placed prone without armor roll is different than a knock down.
Brick Bungalow
I think the answer is no in both cases but I'd like to see an official errata.
savion47
Both these instances do not have the player roll for armor. The rule does not say you roll for armor anytime they are knocked down, it says you add +3. Not sure how you could add +3 to a non-existent roll. The part of the rule for reference: Quote A running chainsaw is a dangerous thing to carry around, so if a player holding a chainsaw is Knocked Down for any reason, the opposing coach is allowed to add 3 to his Armour roll to see if the player is injured.

Weav
Correct, but let’s examine pitch invasion and wrestle. By the way, like most Blood Bowl rules questions, I am taking a ‘rules as written’ approach: DEFENDER DOWN: The defending player is pushed back and then Knocked Down in the square they are moved to. The attacking player may follow up the defender. - note that Knocked Down is capitalized Pitch Invasion: Both coaches roll a D6 for each opposing player on the pitch and add their FAME (see page 18) to the roll. If a roll is 6 or more after modification then the player is Stunned (players with the Ball & Chain skill are KO'd). A roll of 1 before adding FAME will always have no effect. - the player is placed prone, and not Knocked Down Wrestle (General) The player is specially trained in grappling techniques. This player may use Wrestle when he blocks or is blocked and a ‘Both Down’ result on the Block dice is chosen by either coach. Instead of applying the 'Both Down' result, both players are wrestled to the ground. Both players are Placed Prone in their respective squares even if one or both have the Block skill. Do not make Armour rolls for either player. Use of this skill does not cause a turnover unless the active player was holding the ball. - again, not Knocked Down, and specifically says no armor rolls
