Munkie
Hey guys, I'm a desperate hamster. My girlfriend's car broke down on Lakeway and we managed to get it pushed into the parking lot next to the Cruisin Coffee (same parking lot as the old, closed Market). Thing is, we're trying to save up to move next fall and this is gonna set us back. She needs her car for work (she works at Dominos too), and we need to get it repaired ASAP. Repairs are expensive (but unavoidable), and tow trucks are expensive too. Are there any hamsters with towing capability? We'll pay any way we can, but would like to avoid the $100+ that a truck costs. I hate to ask for favors but desperate times call for desperate measures, and penny pinching is the only way we're gonna be able to make this move. JMGraham
Sorry, but no towing capability here.
generalripphook
I am sure if we all gathered together we could push it! Make that a motion at tuesdays meeting. Sorry to hear about your car :(
Raak
I can probably tow it kev. What kind of car is is?
Munkie
98 Acura integra. Little thing. You'll be my hero (and Staz's, she reminds me from over my shoulder)!!
Raak
Sorry - Sick kid so just got him down and read this - PM me a number to call you at. Tomorrow we'll figure it out, no problem. We can do it county style with tow straps and 2 drivers or grab a real tow rig from uhaul. I'm up for either.
smashthedean
I have AAA, but I don't think you can use that to tow other people's cars? I mean maybe I could be like, "yes this is my car" but I'm skeptical on if they'd buy it.
Jayne_Cobbb
It works, As long as you are there with the car.
stark1261
Covers you not the car. Just say you are a passenger. This is the advantage of a couple having AAA, but just one membership.
Fix
Oh hell, if that's the case, I can cover you as well, Kevin. Lord knows I owe you one. We can get it done this evening.
Munkie
Time was of the essence and I had to bit the bullet and call the truck. On the plus side, it was less than I expected--maybe due to only towing it about a mile and a half.
