WHAT: Cabin-Fever-Relief-2020
Did you get a new game recently that you have not played yet? Do you have a favorite game that no one in your circle plays anymore?
Grab that box, sign up to host that game and Join Us for a day of board gaming fun at Guardian Games in "Cabin-Fever-Relief-2020"

WHEN: Saturday, March 28th, 2020, from 12 PM to 10:00 PM
WHERE: Guardian Games, 345 SE Taylor St, Portland, OR 97214
    Room = The Level-Up Room (2nd floor)
WHO: Whomever signs up and pays the fee: $10.00 per person for the whole 10 hrs (not pro-rated).

1. BASIC DETAILS:
WHY: The Rose City Dukes and Duchesses (RCDD) gamers gather for an all-day gaming and social event, to socialize, play games, eat, drink and jabber. Host your favorite game,... try a new game, ... meet new peeps

* RCDD is an abbreviation for "Rose City Dukes and Duchesses Flames of War Ranger Group".
** If you are hosting a a game, PLEASE RSVP by 14 March, via e-mail or Private Message on Ordofanaticus.
You can walk in day of, without an RSVP, so long as you pay the fee.

3. DESCRIPTION: Join us for an all-day tabletop gaming event. Grab the game you got for Christmas. Pull your favorite game down from the shelf. Dig out your all-time favorite game from deep storage. Host a game or join a game. We will have prize drawings at the mid- and end-points of our gaming day. We will have both old games and new games. Sign up in advance on our blog, email or Ordo forum.

4. HOST A GAME: If you are planning on hosting a game, here are our recommendations:
You should have played the game at least once (even if only by yourself).
Game length: Between 30 and 120 minutes is good, but games lasting up to three hours could work, also.
PLAYERS: You can gather your own group of players, or meet new people and recruit new players
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 2-6 players, 3-5 player games preferred.
SPACE: Table space for your game: should fit on a table 3' x 5' or smaller. If you need more space, put that in your game hosting proposal. We will have standard tables, 1 small table and 1 miniatures/wargaming table.
TYPE OF GAME: Game type can be board game, card game or miniatures game.
Inventory the game before you arrive
Be comfortable with teaching the game to new people.

5. PLAY A GAME:
RSVP, via email ???, commenting on this post, or Ordo private Message to 'barca'. Please do not double-book yourself into two or more games in the same or overlapping time slots.
Check back on the blog for updates to the schedule

6. BASIC SCHEDULE:
We setup at 11 AM
First game starts at 12:00 PM
Games end before or at 9:30 PM.
Cleanup and pack up: 9:30-9:55 PM
Be out the door before the store closes: 10 PM.
Arrive and leave when you want.

7. FEE: Just for this event: $10.00 per person for the entire day.
Our club does not collect dues.
There is a compulsory fee for this event, per person, to cover room rental and the door prizes.
We are renting a room at GG for the entire day. Whether or not you stay for the entire event, the fee is the same.
PAYMENT: Make payment to the Guardian Games Clerk at the front register and use the sign-up sheet there. The GM - barca - will NOT be taking any money.

8. Door Prizes:
Everyone in attendance will get a ticket for the door prize drawing.
The GM will keep the matching half of the ticket with the person's name.
The prizes are 2 Guardian Games gift certificates, one per winner. You can only win once.
The values are TBD, based upon the fees paid, minus the room rental fee.
The GM will conduct two random drawings, the first at 3:25 PM and the second at 9:30 PM.
You must be present to win. If the owner of the winning ticket is not present, drawing will repeat until the winner is present and collects their gift certificate.

9. GAMES PLANNED: Here are the games we plan to host, so far. There will be more:

  • The Black Fleet. 3-4 players
  • Citadels (2016 Edition)2-8 players
  • Pandemic 4-5 players
  • Stone Age (10th Anniv Ed) 2-4 players
  • Legends of Andor 3-4 players
  • Grand Imperialism. 4-6 players

This is just a starting  list. We want and expect to have several games running simultaneously, throughout the day, as people step up to host the games they want to share.

10. COME PREPARED - INCREASE YOUR FUN:
I encourage everyone to read up on or watch videos on the games that interest you. Knowing the rules and strategies before the game day will  improve your experience.

12. Guest Hosted Games:
Tentative: Wings of Glory – World War I – 2-8 players, 1-4 hours

NOTE: some are still TBD. Where you see "TBD" or "???", these details will be added before December 31st.
