That was the first time I skated since my teens... so 20+ years ago. Ish Posted December 3, 2020 Report Share Posted December 3, 2020 Back in junior high, the teachers and administration thought that a suitable reward for getting us to act (slightly less) like a Lord of the Flies LARP was to incentivize the entire school with a trip to the local roller rink, Skate World. My friends and I would begrudgingly strap on a pair of rented skates, do that sort of half-roll/half-stomp for a lap or two while the chaperones were actually paying attention for the thirst ten minutes... and then sneak off to the back room to play Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter II Champion Edition.
