If not, I will play you. It doesn't matter what your list is, there will be no winner. I will teach and coach. 600pts is usually one squadron from each tier. Battlescribe is very helpful. Here are the data files. My patrol set is 415pts and is one squadron from each tier. At 600pts, I'll have a battleship, 2 destroyers, 3 cruisers, and 4 frigates, plus a few upgrades. Stoobert Posted July 22, 2014 Report Share Posted July 22, 2014 Not a Terran in the fleet my man! I agree your Battleship isn't that impressive, it just isn't that sturdy. But you may have have been too aggressive with it. The Heavy Cruisers might be your best "first in" unit -- a squad of 3 have 2x HP of the Battleship and mines. I guess i was too aggressive with it (which was a switch from the last two games i used it), but its a Battleship! Unfortunately, its just too frail and cant do anything very well. Cloaking on a Battleship really isnt very effective when you have no way of damaging anyone with the cloak up! No Weapon shielding, Split Fire, Bigger Batteries, or PD Barrage makes it pretty useless :( Oh well, im picking up two more carrier groups, so SRS insanity is on the way! However they aren't much good at killing cruisers either due to their range band and cloaking limitation and seem to be quite vulnerable to multiple medium ships. They cant close with an enemy very well since they are slow(6" move which cant be upgraded), and they have no Mines either.Overall, i feel like they fall into a niche category, that of a second line ship, and there are better choices than it for that role (Battlecruisers).My solution is not to use it much, lol. Stoobert Posted August 8, 2014 Report Share Posted August 8, 2014 A few rules notes that I screwed up: Indirect Weapons ignore Line of Sight restrictions, including Cloaking Fields. They are never Blocked or Impeded. This mean you can Torp someone behind a planet, although it seems you'd probably have to measure in a curve as if the torps would be programmed to drive around the planet. Asteroids only Blocked if you pass through 6" of asteroid, otherwise Impeded. Not 6" past an asteroid, but THROUGH 6". 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
