Don't Panic
but after saying that, lance down also might be the most irritating 'difficult to fit in combat b2b' so theres that to think about
MexicanNinja
If you're going WYSIWYG then I would model it with the more appropriate weapon. Sword, in the case for the non-magic lance. That, and the sword looks cooler than the lance.
McNathanson
Good point MN: at this time, he's got a magical lance, so that'd be a "+1" for the lance, but at the same time, I could model his lance stuck into the chaos standard at this feet, broken or discarded, and his sword drawn. But maybe that is too busy?I also don't care a WHOLE lot about WYSIWYG magic weapon loadouts, because they change all the time. So I just go with what looks good, especially since all Knights have a sword to fall back to anyway ;)

McNathanson
Finally had some time last night to continue working on the conversion. I chose to use a lance, but none of the ones I had were quite what I wanted, so I made my own. I think by the time I'm done I'll have poached from about $200 in minis for this one guy! When I'm done I'm going to take a finished pic to see if anyone can name all his bits :) Oh and I still gots my pin-vise skillz:
McNathanson
All done, primed and ready to start painting!I think I count bits from at least 8 different models in there. I forgot how fun it is to create a new pose and bit-mash a guy just how you want.

Swan-of-War
Love the lance-down look - for some reason it looks more imposing. And I can't believe you pieced together your own lance! Good show

McNathanson
Paint it red cause he's dying every game! Lord General Montagnes du Parc... dying?! Oh no, every good Bretonnian Knight knows that dying is a duty - nay, an honor - reserved for his loyal vassals, the Peasant Bowmen and Men at Arms!
