winterman
I like the look of the maleceptor more with the side view, but the rules for both beasts are as terrible as rumored. Would have been much happier with updated plastic kits for our finecast then yet another set of MCs in an already crowded Heavy and Elite section. pretre
I also love that Psychic Overload is basically Psychic Shriek, but significantly less effective and higher Warp Charge. Well, looking at it now, Psychic Shriek isn't Focused, this is.
VonVilkee
These add interesting options with out being omg good... Man I'm wanting to start a tyranid force but then I see the price and I'm like umm Marines!
Jayne_Cobbb
I believe Psychic Shriek is only usable once per turn per psyker, this is usable up to 3 times. And you can snipe melta guys, etc. Or guys with force staves...
fluger
Which is all fine and dandy, except you need that many warp charges to do it.
AbusePuppy
Well, looking at it now, Psychic Shriek isn't Focused, this is. Sure, and it's 6" longer range, too, but that doesn't make it not awful. For all the times you'll get lucky and snipe their special weapon trooper out, there will be plenty of times that Shriek just kills the entire squad so it doesn't matter that it isn't able to snipe targets. I believe Psychic Shriek is only usable once per turn per psyker, this is usable up to 3 times. You need ~6 dice to cast Overload with a good degree of success. (And you'd want slightly more than that if you want to successfully trigger the Focused portion.) That means you'd need ~20 Warp Charge for a single psyker in order to make full use of the power- and that's assuming you don't cast any other powers at all. And if you're hitting Space Marines with those shots, you're killing an average of two models, in total. For twenty Warp Charge.(Remember you've got to roll to hit with BS3 as part of the power.) 5+ invulnerable save! Wow didn't think nids got those. Don't worry, they gave it armor befitting an Imperial Guardsmen to compensate. After all, something that costs as much as a Land Raider can't be gettin' out of control with Power Armor, not can it? That would be crazy talk.
fluger
I'm pretty sure we can put this model release right up next to the Dark Angels flyer as proof that GW doesn't induce codex creep. They just suck at balance.
VonVilkee
Can characters look out sir this? It is a statistic test not a hit and wound... Interesting conundrum that.
WestRider
And not even Biomorph access. Ugh. As cool as these models look, I'm giving them a pass until they get Rules that don't suck. Damn shame, I was really looking forward to Nids getting something to help with their ground game, rather than being stuck as a Flying Circus. I even like the Flying Circus, I just want there to be more viable options.
AbusePuppy
Can characters look out sir this? It is a statistic test not a hit and wound... Interesting conundrum that. The characteristic test results in wounds, which you can then reallocate with LOS (even if it successfully goes off as a Focused version.) JMGraham
Well, at least the presence of T6 4+ armour MC gives all of those autocannon equivalents something to really mow down!

VonVilkee
You know he didn't write that up, right? Nope didn't notice on my phone... :) also the best way to tell lictors from broodlords is the feet! Lictors have hooves, broodlords have gnarly clawed toes
InfestedKerrigan
So the current codex has Lictors as HQ and Broodlords as, what, upgrade character for Stealers?
fluger
Lictors are Elites. They DO have Deathleaper as an HQ though.

PumpkinHead
The only good thing I can imagine with the new toxicrene is getting the ambush warlord trait, and dropping them 18" from your opponent. Not saying it is a great idea, but an idea for a beer and pretzel army.

fluger
OK, that thing is going to be impossible to position in fights without some kind of magnet set up.
pretre
Probably just do some bending to make some different positioning.
