McNathanson
I'm trying to come up with some DIY "Mounted Yoemen" for my Brets. I looked at the Riders of Rohan on GW site and they seem about right if I use different heads maybe. Their horses look tiny but based on how low the RoR feet hang, I'm wondering if the riders might be big enough to put on Empire Pistolier horses? Anyone taken a look at these in person who can comment on if the scale is close enough for something like this? Thanks,Nathan
dkieft
I am not familiar with most of the line but have a couple models that I got in bulk acquisitions, I think you are good on scale, but I do not know about fitting onto other horses. TJP
LotR is much closer to 25mm scale (vs. Warhammer's 28...30...32mm creeping scale). Brets are much closer to scale than a lot of other WH stuff though, so no idea how it'll fit in. There are a LOT of options for historical 28mm figures, too. Swan-of-War
I used the Galadhrim for a High Elves army; the whole LotR line is much smaller and doesn't mix well with Warhammer. Your riders' legs won't even be able to spread wide enough to sit on a pistolier horse. Hell, I had a hard enough time switching Dale and Galadhrim knights around
Ring_of_Gyges
As much as I love my LotR figures, they really are too small to mesh with Warhammer.
Swan-of-War
Are the yeomen hard to find these days?
generalripphook
If you did your entire army as LotR then it'd be good....but mixing would be bad.
Brick Bungalow
It wouldn't bother me too much if someone used true 25-28 based up to be comparable height. This gives a lot of cool modeling choices. It does look a little strange but I think its worth it to see cool and unique armies.
Swan-of-War
Ex Illis Hobelars might work, they look similar to the men at arms and have brimmed helmets
