pretre
I suppose. I was thinking one of the pods could have landed on the wrong dropsite and as penance the machine spirit vows to never land in the wrong spot again.

Aventine
How the heck would a drop pod have survived Istvaan V? Not like there were loyalist recovery vehicles and you can't drive it away like they did with some vehicles. It scattered and didn't land on an objective, so nobody shot at it ;)

Guest
To be fair, the battle legacy is for SM vehicles with the deep strike rule, but not pods specifically. Land Speeders, Drop Pods, and a few other SM vehicles exist with deep strike. So, side note, is a Land Speeder with two multi-meltas and this upgrade worth the 100pts that it is? No scatter Dual MM at BS4.
WestRider
For one of them, I'd say probably not in 7th, tho it would have been in 6th. For a Squadron, tho, if you can have the Legacy Speeder as the one the Deep Strike is based on, that could be worth it.

WestRider
That is the question there. It says the Vehicle doesn't Scatter, and when you're Deep Striking a Squadron, you Scatter the first Vehicle placed, and then just place the others in base contact, regardless of where that may be. I could see it being interpreted both ways, but suspect the intention was for it not to apply to Squadrons.
