fluger
I love that GW thinks THOSE are the Frequently Asked Questions...
pretre
Neat. Only one of any importance seems to be that Infiltrating characters can't join non-infiltrating units, etc.
WestRider
Cyber-Wolves became T5, too. Means way less worry about Majority Toughness making your WolfStar T4 if you screw up your Casualty Removal or something. There are still a boatload of unresolved issues, tho.
pretre
Yeah, I still haven't taken them so thought they were already. Good catch.
Torg
no more jink'n when immobile?? WHAA? lol - that was a problem? I mean - really people tried to do that? lol
AbusePuppy
The Jink thing is good to see- it was totally legal, and totally stupid, before. I don't like the Infiltrate one, as I think it contradicts RAW and removes interesting options from the game, but I guess now at least there's an official answer. Makes Shadowsun, Cypher, Karandras, and Illic pretty crappy, though.
Lord Hanaur
So glad they brained up and got rid of Jinking immobilized vehicles. that was just plain dumb. And yes people DEFINITELY tried to do it.
winterman
Good to see them nerf those overpowered Dark Eldar Archons everyone was taking </sarcasm> Still, good to see they are still doing FAQs after the hiatus
Xavier319
Cuz.. I was so wondering if a bomb on a deffkopter worked the same way as other bombs. I was just making the rules up as I went... -_-
InfestedKerrigan
Neat. Only one of any importance seems to be that Infiltrating characters can't join non-infiltrating units, etc. That was what I saw. Seals a lot of the questions I've had about how I run Huron. VonVilkee
But what if you join the units together in reserve? Can they then out flank?
AbusePuppy
A character with Infiltrate cannot join a squad without Infiltrate (or vice versa) during the deployment phase PERIOD. Doesn't matter if you didn't choose to use Infiltrate, doesn't matter if they're in reserve- they cannot join each other, end of story. A pretty harsh ruling for a lot of units.
InfestedKerrigan
I disagree with your reading of it. A model with infiltrate is not the same as an infiltrating model. If your Scouts don't infiltrate, they aren't infiltrators.
VonVilkee
Got to go with abuse on this one. Models with infiltrate do not have the option to deploy normally. This means to me that they are always infiltrating, even when they decide to go reserve. This actually gives my scouts in a storm more flexibility, I don't have to declare their in reserve until infiltrators deploy time. Interesting... fluger
Models with infiltrate do not have the option to deploy normally. Wait...what?

I'm glad it's in a big black box lol I retract my previous statement. Holy cow. I haven't played 7th yet. :D
InfestedKerrigan
pg 167 BRB, big black box. "Units that contain at least one model with this special rule are deployed last, after all other units (friend and foe) have been deployed." So, even though they can deploy in your deployment zone, they can't be joined by ICs without infiltrate, period.
fluger
Yeah, I just looked it up. Weird.
WestRider
If it were my call, I totally would have ruled the other way on ICs and Infiltrate. That said, I'm glad to just have it settled.
VonVilkee
The ruling just reiterates the raw. I was so used to having the option to deploy normally I missed the change in seventh that they (infiltrators) deploy last. I am sad that an infiltrating character can't join a squad already deployed but I can see where they were like snap! Stop your antics and arguments! AbusePuppy
I would actually say that you could choose not to use the Infiltrate rule, since the use of special rules is typically optional, but it's actually irrelevant to the discussion at hand- the Infiltrate rule says that models with it cannot be joined by characters without it (and vice versa) and makes absolutely no mention of "if they use this special deployment" or anything of the type. If you have the rule, you can't mix with someone who doesn't, end of story.
fluger
What's so weird about it though is that in the wording of the USR, it says as long as one model in the squad has it, then they infiltrate. Are there any examples of units that have some models with it and some without?
BrainFireBob
Yes. Pathfinders+Devilfish. Or, I suppose, any unit with a transport given infiltration.
andozane
Wow...has it always been Skimmers that are Heavy cannot jink? Or is that new as well?
