smashthedean
I think the time period is way off, but it would be cool.

Fix
I agree wholeheartedly and would begin playing immediately.
Munkie
The time period isn't really off. The Japanese civil wars that we think of with the powerful shogun and warring daimyos were from the mid 1400s to late 1600s, but Samurai as a warrior class had been around since the 900s. So they were definitely around. But the japanase have always been pretty thoroughly isolationist and wouldn't make too much sense to have in the game. The only faction that had any interaction with them during this time period were the steppe tribes, and even that's a stretch. It was actually Chinese armies of dynasties founded by the Mongols that attempted to invade Japan a couple of times (with disastrous results). Still, I like me some Samurai, so I'd be curious about home brewed rules. The samurai would be their Hearthguard equivalent and would probably be pretty OP by comparison. Way better weapons, armor, and training backed up by superior longbows would make them pretty tough to balance, I would think.
nathonicus
Hey, are there Germanic tribes in Saga?
huggies01
If there are Samurai, then there must be ninja.

It would just depend on the battle board
Gailbraithe
Samurai would be okay, but I really want to create boards for doing the War of Three Kingdoms.
Wiccus
Samurai would make about as much sense as Skraelings (native americans) which are already in the game. I feel like they will eventually release an eastern expansion with lots of asian armies.
JMGraham
I would play your historically incorrect crazy thing. The kind of person it would bother is the kind of person I want to be bothered. Pick a battleboard that matches what you think would fit your samurai, and bring it! intrizic
I got some samurai models in my grab bag at the Nova Open. I'll bring them to game night to get community approval, but I would really like to use them :D. Thanks for the support everyone
Sherbert
guys, there are 23 factions to the game already, it shouldnt be that hard to find at least one faction that you can enjoy playing.

Munkie
Now you need to play samurai twice as hard, just to annoy Sherbert!
Fix
And when you get right down to it, aren't Anglo Danes basically just Blood Angels? I mean if you really think about it. Gonna get this counts-as army done up right.

JMGraham
Or Dorks. I have some miniatures left over from the "Revenge of the Nerds Tactical Battle Game" that haven't seen the table since the 80s. Be nice to break them out again. smashthedean
If you ask me the Dorks are pretty overpowered. I have a fully painted Dweeb faction sitting on the shelf that has never won a game :(
