McNathanson
Hey folks just finished my (stupidly expensive) conversion and thought I'd post pics before moving on to painting. This was built using Forgeworld Contemptor body, Contemptor Power Fist, Dread Combat Claws, Dreadknight Hammer, and a combination of bits for his "sidearm" (including Forgeworld GK Landraider Psycannon and Hurricane Bolter parts). The idea is to use polyfill for rocket-smoke effects (jump jets) to account for his Personal Teleporter, which is why he is mounted airborne. There are a few more photos in my Grey Knights gallery album if you're interested! If anyone has tips on modeling/painting the smoke effects for his jump jets that'd be great! Thanks,Nathan

McNathanson
The leaping pose is pretty familiar eh Psilence?? Honestly it's one of two poses I had in mind before you sent me your pics but I definitely like your take on it and was pushed toward doing this one first because of those pics! Psilence
Right on, it's a pretty iconic pose. The jets/smoke should make it pretty interesting too :) I finished my second NDK (running). I'll text some pics :) Looking forward to your finished product.
Guest
So, gonna add balrog wings or something? "Clearly" needs something to drive up the cost a bit more.....
ChaosGerbil
Cotton bunting (stuffing) is cheap and great for smoke. Use some watered down white glue and form it. Paint yellow and orange on the inner layer then black on the outside.
McNathanson
Yeah Pax good point, I definitely need to find a way to add some more Forgeworld in there :) Thanks CG for the smoke tips! I'll do a test on a destroyed vehicle marker and see how it turns out!
ChaosGerbil
Cool. One technique I plan to try is to paint a fiery core, then separately spray paint some black and then glue the black around the fire.
