CD: Icons, instruments and standards?

Contextual, for the most part. Musicians really depend on you holding a bunch of your Army in Deep Strike Reserves to be most useful. If you're doing that, the Icons, also potentially become more useful if you're DSing in close where they can help reduce Scatter.

The Nurgle and Slaanesh banners are really dependent on your Opponent's list, and as such, even more contextual than the others. The Khorne one is nice for those Turns when you really need to make a mid-range Charge, but gets spendy if you're running more than maybe a couple. The Tzeentch one is probably the best of the lot. It gives a nice boost to Flickering Fire on a critical Turn, and if you happen to roll up Corrosive Breath, it can be hilariously awesome on Overwatch.

One I did notice is that the musician DS thing only requires friendly models with the daemon rule, not codex daemon models. This means that it could be used to get obliterators, in example, in from reserve.

The icon seems like it's value would increase with (same god) daemon summoning, as BRB says to treat the summoned units as if they had just entered from reserves via deep strike.

Icon also has nifty application in stalemate assaults, as it adds to the wins on the daemon side. I rolled a warlord trait to this effect recently with a SM warlord and was pleasantly surprised at how useful it was to count as if an extra wound was scored for assault results. Turned out quite effective. Doubtfully worthwhile for this role on my horrors....
