fluger Posted June 29, 2015 Report Posted June 29, 2015 Come one come all to the next batch of Fluger Game Day. I intend to try and get lots of 40k in, but I'm sure we'll do SAGA, Zombicide, and King of Tokyo and other stuff as well. 2 Quote
VonVilkee Posted June 29, 2015 Report Posted June 29, 2015 I'll bite. I work Sundays now so won't stay too late but I'll come early. What is the earliest you want a game sir? 2 Quote
fluger Posted June 29, 2015 Author Report Posted June 29, 2015 If the Warhamsters are making a trek from Bellingham, I'm open to starting as early as we can to pack in the gaming. I'd be open to a 9AM start, honestly. 1 Quote
Guest Posted June 29, 2015 Report Posted June 29, 2015 How, again, do I get there? Really tempted to do this one, this year. Quote
fluger Posted June 29, 2015 Author Report Posted June 29, 2015 You have to get up to the Puyallup Barrens. 3 Quote
Guest Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Internet says I can get to puyallup via something called "sound transit" which would require being in Seattle. I can get to Seattle via the train, and it's a pretty ride, so the question becomes: where is your home? And is there anywhere to sleep in all this? Quote
fluger Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 You can always crash on my couch. If you're taking the train, you can stop in Tacoma or Puyallup itself. If you're relying on public transportation, it won't get you to my house on a weekend. I've given people rides before, but it becomes problematic if I have to be getting the house ready first. Perhaps someone coming could give you a lift from Tacoma train station (or Puyallup one if there is a train) to my place. 1 Quote
VonVilkee Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Can't speak for the warhamsters but for me alone a nine am game sounds sweet I even get to sleep in a bit at that. What should I plan to pack down as an army? Grey knights, imperial knights, space Marines? 2 Quote
fluger Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 Dude, as long as you're behind the wheel of the list, I don't care what it is, I know it'll be fun. Though, now that I think about it, I think the knights would be a great challenge for my Orks. They've been getting stomped (literally!) by knights and GCs and I think it'd be a good test. Also, less fiddly stuff to pack! 2 Quote
Guest Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Google Maps says 7.2 miles from Puyallup Station. Uphill early on, but mostly downhill on the way back. It's mostly a straight route, with very few turns. I'll investigate more, but it sounds fun. I always like it when I can combine 40k with physical activity. Quote
Romans832 Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 I'll see what my future wife thinks... 13 days and counting! 3 Quote

Kingpin Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Hmm sounds like a good time. I need to work on my list for a tourney at the end of August anyway. As always I will have to check with the boss lady. 2 Quote

Dude, "Uphill early on" does not even begin to accurately describe the climb on that side of town. [big bad swear word] doing that on bike or foot, seriously. 2 Quote

[big bad swear word] doing that on bike or foot, seriously. Yeah, I was soft balling it. Says we start at 30ft above sea level, and during the ride, get to 450ft above sea level, most of which is "early on." Quote
WestRider Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 I'll check to see if I can make it. Should know in a couple of days. If so, maybe we could arrange a carpool with someone from downtown Tacoma out to Fluger's or something? 2 Quote
fluger Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 13? August 1st, right? He's getting married in 13 days. He'll be in the midst of wedded bliss around Games Day time. 1 Quote
