Raindog
Tonight, I was watching Babylon 5, Season One, Epsiode Three. Garibaldi uses an Ice Breaker hacking program to track people using the comms. It is nice to see Ice Breaker as an Info War hacking program in N3......... Exile
That first season is rough, but the payoffs in that series are sooooo worth it.
Raindog
I played Joel and his USARF tonight. I won WIP and went second. Joel pick sides and had me deploy first. Scar Face blasted my Fasid off the table. A Foxtrot played mine around my Daylami. Then, Cordelia took the armory, but failed to open up a box. On my turn, I let loose the Mutts. They set smoke around Scar Face and Killed Cordelia. They jammered Scar Face while the Baird used the smoke cover to put a repeater near Scar Face. Another Mutt ran into the armory and blasted the War Driver. The Mutt died from a shot from the Unknown Ranger, but it was worth it. Next, the Bashi came in a took out a few models. Finally, the Farzan laid a mine near the Foxtrot. Since Scar Face killed the Fasid, he was now frenzied and due to the jammer, isolated and irregular. He charged the closest Mutt. I tried to Overload him, it failed. The Mutt lived the assault attack. On the second attack, the Mutt died, but I possessed Scar Face. Joel advanced his Minutemen, his Grunt team, and the Unknown Ranger in an around the armory. On my second turn, I advanced the Mutts and Scar Face towards the Grunts. Chain rifles blasted the clusters of Grunts. Scar Face and the Farzan finished the rest. Joel started Turn Three in retreat. He had a wounded Ranger and Minuteman left. Raindog
My dad reminded me I had a Space Ship up in the attic. I went up and looked. It was my Christmas present from 1976, a Space 1999 Eagle. Link: http://reflectionsonfilmandtelevision.blogspot.com/2012/07/collectible-of-week-space1999-eagle-1.html The doors are gone. Four the five windows are missing as are the figure. The gray exhaust cones are gone, but I remember having lost at least one of those by 1985. The model is beaten from heavy play. I used to use it with my Buck Rogers set from 1978. I am going to clean it up, peel off the stickers, and use it for Infinity as terrain. I will rattle can it and dry brush it up. It is a huge piece. It is well over 24 inches long and about 15 inches at the widest point. I will bring it next week.

Raindog
Well, since you ran off to Iowa, I have had to take my beat downs from Evan and Pete. Pete has made some solid points lately. A Rafiq and Fanous Remote are solid. The smart missile seems a nice trick. Farzans are great control pieces. Barids are a solid hacker that Incan play plenty of tricks with as a KHD with the Repeater Remotes or not. Listening to Remote Presence, I must compliment you for changing their mind set when it comes to play especially with you Naga and other well thought tactics. By the way, you are missing cold weather: Ice and wind. We missing having you here, but I like hearing about your exploits.

Thanks RD, Haqq is a rrrreallly good faction, but also a tough one to learn as well. Going from nomads to haqq though I think is a nice soft transition as they share some properties yet are quite different as well. The haqq remotes are my favorite basic remotes in the game. Love those chicken bots. also nice that most have that rifle shotgun combo too. Barids are stupidly good. Quite envious of those models. As for remote presence, yeah I met sean and talked to him quite a bit at iowa infinity. He's a really solid guy and entertaining. Just signed up for his huge tournament in June if any of you guys are looking to road trip to Minnesota(I recall you lived in minny right RD?) for... .... well infinity i guess. Drop the wives off at mall of america to have them enact their revenge? lol jkjk. This is the first time I've talked about it in public, but I'm in the middle of putting together something. I feel that infinity is definitely a visual game and watching the quality of the GMG videos showing interactions on the table got a spark from me as I realized there really isnt a 'visual/video tactica' out there showing interactions in the game beyond BRs. So I'm going to fuddle with that and see if i can pathetically put some stuff together... Still have a lot of logistics to figure out so might be a while(I've never edited video before...). Also in the process of buying a home so kinda busy in general! Hope all is well! PS: It's 15 degrees colder in iowa and our winter wind is worse(trust me id rather be in oregon right now lol).
Raindog
Nate, I would love to have a solid video battle reports Neo-Terra and Gaming with the Coolr are nice, but they misplay rules and seem to have a limited meta.
Raindog
As to Haqq, I am enjoying playing with them more than Nomads. They are a bit more subtle and play a bit sideways.
Raindog
My Models came in on Tuesday, but due to the snow, I picked them up today. I started to assemble my remote, but cannot find them mini-diamond files........ meh.

Raindog
I have the two remotes and the Baird assembled. I started on the Farman, but I am too tired.
Exile
The remotes are awesome designs, but the molds (for each faction's basic 4 remotes) are some of the oldest molds in active use. May be the oldest, as far as I know and suspect.
Raindog
Okay...... The Farzan and Baird had some serious mold lines...... I still need diamond files to do the hard work. I may have to stop by Guardian Games, but did my best without them. The Ghulam HMG had serious gap issues while putting the two arms together. It is a new model, but the left (support) arm did not fit on the square peg, so I brown stuffed it along with the small gap issues of the Farzan and Shaytaniyah. I have a second Barid that I forgot I had purchased. I am going to try to swap arms with the Ghulam Hacker from SWC box.

Raindog
I did it! My first real Infinity Conversion. I took my second Barid and successfully swapped arms with the new Ghulam Hacker. I made it work. A little cutting and a little putty work and Shazam! Essentially, the arms are the opposite of the standard model. I love it when a plan comes together.
Raindog
Tonight, I played Joel in Decapitation. He won the roll off and elected to go second. I had him set up first. Joel set up the table nice and high, but with several long shooting lanes, but with a few nice hiding spots. Neither side had a big advantage. Joel buried his LT. Without drop troops, I had little chance getting through his lines. I could see his had few models missing by the points he had on the table, so I knew he had either drop troops or Fox Trots or both. Joel dominated the center of the table with his Grunt link. Captain America was nearby. Joe Scar Face took his left side. He place his War Driver and Doctor Fire Ax in vulnerable spots. The Mutts laid down smoke, so they crews could advance and take the center of the table. I should have pushed more, but have not played in some time and was not as crisp. I used the Farman to FO the center Grunt Link and bomb the troops with the Smart Missile Launcher. Three Fox Trots appeared and laid down a wall of mines to slow my advance. Then, Joe went on an a Rambo mission. He took out a few models until my HMG Ghulam double crit him. Joe hit a mine and popped out. Joe danced with Farzan, but in the end ate a shotgun blast. I tried to Rambo with a Mutt. The rampage could have been epic, but Joel made a ton of armor saves. The Captain America advanced under the cover of the remaining Grunt Link. He shot it out with my Asiwra link. I ate through orders trying to advance through Captain America and the link. Joel had 86 points going into his turn three. He did his best to knock off points, but the Asiwira took a wound and held out . In the end, I killed more Army Points and my classified card -Extreme Prejudice for a 5-0 win.

Raindog
I played Pete tonight and got stomped. I deployed poorly, made really bad choice, and was out rolled. Oh well. I lost my LT in turn two and was in retreat by turn three.
Raindog
I assembled the female Ghulam missile launcher. She is not based yet.... I have the female sniper for the unit, but I not sure she is worth assembling at this point. She is 16 points and .5 SWC. Is there place for her? If I took a defensive team with the HMG, missile launcher, and sniper that is 3 SWC.......... Thoughts?
rudra34
The HMG is strong in the link, but not if you want to use it mostly for defense. Keep the missile and the sniper, then take a couple FO's and a doctor in the link. The FO's are better ARO pieces than the HMG and are also specialists if you need them. This frees up a little bit of SWC that you can use on some other tasty units, without putting too many eggs into the link team basket. If you finish the list and find that you still have SWC remaining, you can always consider throwing the HMG back in there for some active turn punch.
Raindog
My gaming this week has been limited to adding a pluck foam insert to my gaming box. It fits the space and can carry my full load of Haqq models when I have the Top Down Terrain display on top. I still need to base my Ghulam Missile Launcher and assemble my sniper........
