cadaver2k
Of the two mentioned in the topic, what specific unit would be the hardest to kill/most durable? Dante, Imperial Knight, Wraith Knight.... others?
AbusePuppy
The Wraithknight, for its cost, is easily one of the toughest Lords of War out there. Its stats and the rules for GCs make it immune (or functionally immune) to most weapons out there and it has plenty of easily-available in-faction buffs (Invisibility, Shrouding, Fortune, Forewarning) to make it even tougher. It has a small handful of weaknesses, but only a very small number. There are other LoWs that are tougher than it, but none anywhere near its price point. (Also, to point out, in 40K all superheavies are Lords of War, so you don't need to really differentiate there.)
cadaver2k
Not very familiar with eldar, what are its special rules?
AbusePuppy
Being a Gargantuan Creature means that Poison and Sniper only wound it on 6s, it can't be removed by Instant Death (instead suffering d3 wounds), and it natively has Feel No Pain. Combined with its high Toughness value and reasonable Wounds/Armor Save, it means that most things in the game can only hurt it on a 5+ or 6+ (and it will still get a cover/invuln save followed by FNP against anything less than a Str D shot.) For example, Scatter Bikes, an easy hyper-efficient shooting unit choice, take more than two squads to average even a single wound to a Wraithknight without any psychic support.
deadwing34
Grav Centurions love Wraithknights wounding on a re-roll-able 2+ with AP2, but yes wont be hitting much with Invisibility buff.
WestRider
Grav is basically the only thing that seriously worries WraithKnights. Fleshbane would be another if it were more common. That's about it.
generalripphook
Did wraithknights become LOW?
WestRider
Did wraithknights become LOW? Yeah, the Eldar Dex re-write changed them into GCs.
DisruptiveConduct
They are still I5, IIRC
AbusePuppy
Still Initiative 5, yeah, and gained Stomp and (functional) immunity to Poison and Sniper weapons, their bane prior to that. Grav Centurions love Wraithknights wounding on a re-roll-able 2+ with AP2, but yes wont be hitting much with Invisibility buff. Wraithknights only have a 3+ save, so grav is slightly less good against them (though it still hits them pretty hard.) However, with a 2+ cover save, Invisibility, or other shenanigans the Cents will often struggle to deal with them- and if you don't kill the WK in the first go, you can be assured it will murder the Cents themselves. Ah whoops would have figured they were a 2+ save, its always hard dealing with a good cover save or invisibility in that situation as well. Devastator Cent. suck in close combat for sure. Guest
Draigo is a pretty nasty Lord of War. But, like most of the IC LoWs, he very much requires active support from the rest of the army to be truly dangerous.
