derek Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 So what's the ruling on this one since there's no MOF anymore how do you include a sicaran or 2 or 3 in your list? Quote
derek Posted September 29, 2015 Author Report Posted September 29, 2015 I'm assuming a techmarine would suffice but just checking Quote
Malakithe Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Just a single Relic is fine with nothing. Once you include a 2nd relic, no matter what it is, you need that MoF. Or in my case just a interrogator-chaplain Quote
WestRider Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Just a single Relic is fine with nothing. Once you include a 2nd relic, no matter what it is, you need that MoF. Or in my case just a interrogator-chaplain The issue is that there no longer is a Master of the Forge. Or an option to reliably take a Rune Priest with the Saga or the Beast Slayer. Or a Reclusiarch. In the absence of an Errata, the only Armies that can currently take multiple Relic Vehicles are DA and CSM. Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 In the absence of an Errata, the only Armies that can currently take multiple Relic Vehicles are DA and CSM. As it should be. Quote
Guest Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Send FW an email. Best way to get a ruling. Quote
WestRider Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I should have added, most people seem to be cool with SM, BA, and SW taking a TechMarine, Chaplain, or Rune Priest, respectively, as the Keeper of the Relics. Those are as close as you can get to the choices that were originally used for the Role. Quote
derek Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 It was more for itc questions about that. Quote
WestRider Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 That is in the ITC FAQ for BA and SW, but it looks like they haven't gotten around to it for SM yet. Quote
derek Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 I mean are the sicarans worth using now that the battle company is a thing that gets free transports and everything Quote
galahad911 Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I mean are the sicarans worth using now that the battle company is a thing that gets free transports and everything Why would BCs being around have any effect on the worth of Sicarans? Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I believe he is asking if they are still as Amazballs as they were, or does the new Codex allow for cheaper, more efficient options with all the special skills and free junk that gets passed out. How has the meta-game surrounding the Sicarans changed with the release of the new Dex? Quote
WestRider Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 Well, the flipside of that is that a Battle Company provides lots of nice targets for a Sicaran, as do Eldar ScatBikes and RavenWing Knights. Quote
derek Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 IfestedKerrigan has it right is it worth it now in that sense? I'd rather not dump the 100+ dollars on it if I won't ever use it Quote
derek Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 Well the question I have now is how does the itc rule it? If I wanted to take a sicaran in a vanilla marines cad well ok let's say 3 of them but you need a master of the forge respectfully but that unit no longer exists would a techmarine suffice because he has the MOTF stat line. If anyone has a way to contact reecius I can just shoot him an email with my question and go straight to the source for an answer I suppose. Quote
WestRider Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I already submitted it to the ITC FAQ. There's a link for that from their home page. 1 Quote
derek Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 So are sicarans worth the money and points now? I mean now that we don't have serpent spam. I know we still have flyrants spam and stuff but in a non competitive point of view for just tough league matches are they really worth what they bring? Quote
WestRider Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I'd say yeah. They're still a great Tank, with solid firepower and good mobility and Armour. There's still plenty of stuff out there relying on Jink Saves. Quote
derek Posted September 30, 2015 Author Report Posted September 30, 2015 Ok then I will probably pick up a couple over time. Not sure if anyone could help me out with a scan or something but to save myself 200+ dollars on a book and 1 model could somebody shoot me a link to the rules or email me a scanned pic of the rules or if somebody has a pdf shoot me the pdf via email Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 I submit for your review to aid in your decision making process. Quote
Malakithe Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 That's the HH version. He probably needs the IA one Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Only valid rules for it currently. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Warhammer-40-000?N=102643+4294966040+4294966003Ν=product.repositoryId&qty=8&sorting=phl&view=table&categoryId=cat2140034 Third Item on my page. Note, 40k not HH. The rules for this model can be found in the Horus Heresy Book 2: Massacre. I imagine they are also in the Legion Crusade Army Book that was recently released. Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 The Warlord is currently the same way, the rules for 40k and HH are in Tempest. Except the Sicaran doesn't address that fact. Actually, I don't think Tempest addresses that fact, either, but FW does on the Warlord's page. Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Admittedly, I did not realize IA2 has been reprinted. My bad. Quote
Guest Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Just a heads up, Frontline has a great index of where the most current rules can be found for each of the IA models. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BpdR4s9sOcbDEv8S2mJUIUK2gtsOS8ZnfxRrcm1-n-U/pub?output=html# Or go to http://www.frontlinegaming.org/ then under the ITC tab, 2nd from the bottom is the "Imperial Armor Unit Index" (directly linked above). Very useful. Quote
