generalripphook
In my campaign we have a bard that refuses to do anything productive until a big bad monster has knocked out most of the party and is down to like 2 hit points and he will take it out with a thrown dagger and claim all the credit.

Time for a new bard lol
generalripphook
He is the self proclaimed leader of the group. Combat=run and hide But you get him in any diplomatic situations and he will either talk his way into a treasury or a prison.

Fix
I like bards that inspire other classes to perform in their roles. I dislike bards that literally stop dragon flame with violin playing.
generalripphook
I think bards requires a very good role player and party who will work with them
JMGraham
Kvothe is a bard done proper, IMO. My fantasy-loving fiddle and violin playing daughter got a kick out of it, but nothing beats the steampunk-western music dance-fight to which it led us:
smashthedean
Kvothe is a bard done proper, IMO. Is he really a Bard though? I don't think he's ever really been about inspiring his allies or anything like that; I'd stat him up as a high CHA Sorcerer with a trait to make Perform a class skill and then full ranks and Skill Focus: Perform. JMGraham
I think so. He's a skill monkey who captivates others with his music and dabbles in a little bit of everything, magic, alchemy, etc., included.
generalripphook
I think Kvoth is most definitely a multi-classed character which includes bard based on his ability to preform and sorcerer or wizard. Leaning toward wizard because of the training required. He is just too powerful of a caster for bard. I also believe multi-class helps represent the almost flip flopping of adventuring types he does.
