Torg
I saw this mentioned today ... I hadn't given it much thought myself... But I and the one whom does this so I guess I should post something up. Is there any interest in a bring an battle post Thanksgiving game of APOC? I have not planned on a place or a time - this is wide open. ideas - impressions - thoughts? Typically we play with everything - (Phantom Titans, Warhounds - massive formations ...etc.). But I am open to most suggestions if folks are interested in getting in a big game on black friday. -d p.s. who is the current "Campaign Czar" ?

Torg
my thoughts ... are a themed table... with table/terrain effects. I'll look at my warzone valedor book for inspiration... with a couple months maybe I can put something together. -d
Torg
I would play Eldar... of course... but have access to some Imp. Knights as well.. I can go to at least 10k... but I would rather leave the phantom at home lol. If your interested - please post up your probable army/faction. -d
Guest
I think it would be good if we could get away from the classic "Imperium vs everything" which is so very common in apocalypse games. I think apocalypse would be thematically better if the players had very mixed faction teams. As for armies, I've got DA or Tyranids. Not sure if the bugs will be ready by then, but Ideally, I'd bring those. As for super heavies, my selection is pretty low. I could look into the FW options for tyranids, but probably wouldn't have more than 1 of those, if any.
Torg
for your Nids pax... how many points could you do? Could also scratch build something for a FW nids flyer ... I've seen some pretty cool options. Something to think about. -d

I could probably get to 3-5k by November if I start really trying to increase my points without regard to the FoC. And I am capable at scratch building. Guest
Though regarding bugs in apocalypse, I'm not really sure if I can build a viable army. I mean, bugs rely a lot on the table only being so long. In an apocalypse size table, I'm not sure if we could really get to the enemy. We don't have a lot of long range options. Not entirely sure how I'm going to "catch" your eldar, since you've got some pretty fast options. I think I need an imperial guard or tau ally... Torg
hmmm well you can do a "without number" type of rule to help with the size of your forces on the nids. and in looking at a themed mission/table set up I am looking at this mission from the warzone valedor book... in which the Nids are basically surrounding the eldar starting location. I would need to modify things - depending on the armies which played in the event. But I could see doing something similar. The mission also has specific objective points and things such that would allow for one factions shortcomings. I will read though the missions again and see what would need to be done. Remember, that tyranid book seems entirely designed to function in 5th ed, not 7th, so there are many issues with the codex and that is at the core of the issue. I'll ask around, maybe get the more experienced bug players. Worst case, I'll just get some allies to fill the gaps in my army. I'm not really wanting to do a Tyranids Vs Eldar game either. As mentioned, I think apocalypse functions better with mixed factions. I'd really like to do a battle that is more "End of the World" for an apocalypse mission. Something along the lines of "the emperor of mankind is waking, his psychic monstrosity felt, and all the universe is quivering, deciding if this is their end or the beginning of their true glory." For my forces, do the tyranids redouble efforts to slay the Imperium once and for all, or does the tyranid hive recognize the Emperor as a Superior Hive Mind, instead fighting to protect the Emperor? Torg
hmmm I will continue and plan for the black friday game... with possible missing / setting options and terrain. The armies used isn't really essential I think. - but it would be nice to have some sorta objectives for the game to have some kinda strategy that will allow for victory (or defeat) that isn't just attached to how much you blow up. :) -d

Could tweak a set for apocalypse.
Treads-n-Wings
I'm interested in an Apoc game. I have 4,800 points (before upgrades) of Necrons. Just regular 40k stuff, no giant Apoc toys, sadly. What day would we be holding the event?

Guest
Oh, want to impose some sort of "within reason" rule on terrain options, or just go with strict RAW? For example, the skyshield giving a 4++ against shooting to anything standing on it (no height limitations), or tank traps being impassible to "All vehicles" regardless of size. Or, for that matter, ruins giving cover saves to gargantuan creatures towering with less than 25% concealment... I don't really care either way, but would be useful to know ahead of time, and definitely important to be applied consistently.
Torg
looks like I may be busy the entire weekend .. (out of town or "stay-cation)... so I won't be able to do this. I will see what I could do to throw down for Apoc at another time - but doubtful I will be driving into portland on this day. -d
Guest
Looking like I won't be ready for this on time. Think I'm cancelling too. I will probably be at Guardian, and would be down for kill team.
