Guest
Notice a bit on my Haruspex that needed sanding. Using a emery board by hand. Smell is very toxic, reminding me of abestos, with very little sanding. Suppose I should have asked before, are the old Armorcast 40k models toxic? What precautions should I be taking? InfestedKerrigan
You should always wear a mask and do the sanding of resin in a well ventilated work space.
WestRider
Even non-toxic resins release very fine dust when sanded, that can clog up your lungs and cause all kinds of unpleasantness.
JMGraham
You should always wear a mask and do the sanding of resin in a well ventilated work space. This! Resin dust is nasty, and you don't want it in your lungs. The resin itself should be inert; what you're smelling is either mold release (unlikely for such an old model), or resin dust.
Torg
I always wear my dust mask and goggles when sanding on resin (Armorcast... forge world... etc.). As stated already - you don't want this stuff in your body. Be very careful with this stuff. -d
InfestedKerrigan
I spaced goggles, as I wear glasses, and often times they are permitted in place of safety goggles. Torg is right, though. I'd put on safety goggles instead of my glasses if I cared more. Years of crawling HVAC in asbestos has me a bit more...carefree than I should probably be at times. KIRBY
Meh. I snort the resin dust -- it gets you super high.
