Two games in last night against Pete and Eric.

Against Pete my army really bit it hard.   I got first turn and lost three important models to crits and bad rolling on my part.   In his turn he was on fire, taking out both of my snipers and getting into damn good position.   I tried to rampage with Joan but her sights were not on, and when they were Pete's dice made armor saves like a champ.  As soon as she fell I through in the towel as my army was in shambles.   He really knows how to work those bolts!


In the game with Eric things went a little better, but my luck had not turned around much.   I started by moving my link team with brother K up the right flank, took out a bandit, dodged a mine, then set my sights on his lieutenant.  I discovered him right off the bat, then continued to lose 3 models to his single shot ARO's trying to take him out.  *sigh* this is what happens when you forget to bring your own dice!  He advanced forward in his turn, laid a few mines, and finished off my link team with his lieutenant.   I was down to seven orders, but managed to rambo across the board taking out Lupe, another alquacil, and his lieutenant with my father knight.   Eric used his command tokens well and got into the objective room, then grabbed two consoles.  I put a shot on an alquacile who passed by, but missed.   I had just enough orders in my turn to clear the objective room and claim three consoles, but everything would have to go just right.   Joan succeeded at clearing the room, but I failed the first of 3 needed wip roles and that was game.  A clear win for Eric who played the game very well. 



The issue came up last night of same-faction games and how they relate to Flamestrike.  Personally I think it's fine, especially since none of us are attempting to game the system by getting auto-wins for any given faction.   We just happen to be in a Pano-heavy meta at this time.   To help alleviate this, i'll start bringing my QK with me to game knight as well.  If anyone wants to get a game against a different faction, I am always happy to play with the Haqqislamites.  Besides, I am still painting MO for the league, so who I play with doesn't matter all that much to me.

nah keep playing your league army!  i mean i could bring aleph too but am doing shock army for league which is kinda the point of a 'double whammy' for RD's league plus world wide campaign meh thinks.  what you stated was right on as we arent trying to get points for one faction it just happens to be that way.  its nothing serious anyways really.  poor aleph though is getting crushed online lol.  feel bad for being a traitor to my AI kind :( 

as for the second game.  sounded like you had at least 3 points and if you managed to get classifieds you could have squeaked out a tie!  or even switching just one console it sounds like would get you a tie.  these games with engineer deck are seriously nail biters.  really like the objectives tbh.

If I could get classifieds I would end with 2(still better than 0) to his 8 (more if he got his classifieds.)   He had 3 consoles to my 0, and would have had plenty of orders to move into the room in his turn.  I cleared his troops from the engineering room, but didn't have anyone inside at the end of my turn.

ah by the readings i thought you had joan inside which would be a doozy to get unhitched even with a lot of orders(due to the zone in the room)!   and didnt realize he had 3.  carry on then lol just trying to give some support to cheer ya up!  *pan-o hugs*

Had to miss out on tonight for what turned out to be an hour and fifteen minute shift tonight *sigh*.   To make up for it, I'll be hitting the paint hard this week in hopes of having two fully painted lists by the tourney at Guardian.  


I am free a bunch this week though, so I'll be at Guardian tomorrow night and possibly at Dice Age on Wednesday if Pete is going to run games.

Finished my second TO sniper, and now have both legs on the Seraph finished.

Yes, you absolutely could have.   You tried once and failed, but I'm pretty confident in the father knight to withstand hacking attempts.  The other Hacker I believe would have been just out of the repeater range, as he is more squishy.

Have been going through the battle running the number. The Alguacile ML had. 44 percent chance of killing your OS Spit. the spit had a 25 percent chance of killing the ML Alguacile.

 

It is odd only having an Attack Hacking Device on the Father Knight. It cannot even hack transport, for jumps. I think he would have a standard Hacking Device.

 

Looks like the Alguacile only had a 25 percent chance of hurting your Father Knight through hacking. Your best defense would be Carbonite, the it drops my success rate to 21 percent and increases your to 38!

 

Carbonite is good.

Carbonite is great for ARO.  The +3 modifier makes it great for f2f rolls.   I could take De Fersen to get a standard hacking device on a father knight, but it's 10 more points and a model that I don't really like.  Assault device is kinda meh on him.  It is great if you have a lot of repeaters, but otherwise a regular device would be better.   Still, he makes an incredible specialist package for 50 points (comes with d-charges too!).

Got in a great game with Pete tonight...then dropped and broke almost all of my models.   Some are alright, one shattered, and most need small to heavy repairs.   Surprisingly, the Seraph only lost one of his wings and had his sword bent.
