I was not able.  I had a bid on ebay for one, then I noticed that it was shipping out of London with $25 additional shipping.  That one slid by, and I'm keeping an eye out for another.  Today my father knights were a Santiago and Joan of Arc in mobility armor.

At some point I'll try to find somebody who wants to split the Icestorm set so that I can get it.  Or I'll just get the whole thing and have a Nomad starter sitting around.

Or, go for the Op:Icestorm as cheap as you can get, take what you want, and sell the leftovers on eBay. You -should- be able to get back about half the cost of the box, especially if you include the Nomad special fig in there, too.

Unless I get completely shot down by my boss, it looks like I will be in the tournament this Saturday!  The two-list thing has me scrambling to get things figured out, and since I have just a general grasp of what I'm doing, I figured I'd ask for some help.  I have my two lists here, both with different goals in mind for the scenarios.

List one: little bit o' everything

This list has a ton of specialists woven into it to make grabbing objectives easier.  The father knights are beefy as hell and can typically hold their own against most things.  The camo models can move up the field quick and protect objectives.  MV2 is there to deal with enemy camo and other hard-to-hit threats.   Everyone else's job is to activate and control consoles, antennae, or other objectives that require activation.

List two: Santiago spam

This list is built for board-control scenarios.  The santiago link is absolutely brutal from a distance, and 360* visors on all of them make for nasty AROs if anyone gets in sight of the team.  In a team they can move through the board fast and eliminate threats or enemies who are holding territory.  The rest of the list is there to support the link (fairy dust in particular) and to provide specialists.  The doctor in this list is pretty sad, so the main goal will be to not let anyone die.

So that is my plan for now, two lists that have different strengths, but at the core operate similarly.  If anyone has tips, suggestions, or comments in general I'm all ears!

looks good to me!  think i like the first one more although that wrecking crew link in the second is frightening.  TO camo for pan-o is soooo cheap compared to other factions(i pay a 40% higher price tag for that!).  just with you high amount of HI i would beware of hackers.  i have the same issue with mine being heavy in REM and HI ;) also i may or not be bringing the big bunny girl this weekend for some kicks(i have ZERO intention of actually winning haha).

Had an awesome time at the tournament today at Super Salty Gaming.  Everyone there was great, and I somehow snuck into third place and got to take home some swag.

Game one: Ariadna

Holy. Crap.  This list had orders out the yang, and I was biting my teeth trying to figure out what to do first.  Thankfully in the first turn he only managed to take out a few models, so I came out hot and started picking off as many models as I possibly could.  My guys shot like superstars, and there were epic battles going on all over the board.  On the left flank I managed to slice the pie on his link team, while my santiago knight, who also happened to be lieutenant, went on a murder spree on the right flank.  Last turn I managed a lucky shot on one of his camo models from across the board.  One ARO from a fusilier combi rifle that needed a 3, and I crit!   Best shot I will ever take.  That gave me the chance to get a third quadrant of the table and secure victory.   7 points for me, I believe 2 or 3 for Ariadna.

Game two: Pano

In this game I was up against a pano list with a Jotum, two bulleteer bots, and an impressive toolbox of other units.  I won WIP so I picked to deploy on the side with the high sniper tower, and it was the game winner for me.  First turn I had the ability to take shots at the Jotum, and I shot until he lost his last wound.  It turns out, that was also the lieutenant!  He got brought back by the engineer, but I took him back down in the turn after and killed the engineer with a rampaging father knight.  I felt kinda cheap about pulling out the win in this game, but That's the way that it goes.  I would absolutely be down to play again without the advantage of seeing the entirety of the board from above.  9 to 1 in my favor.

Game three: Haq

I had plans in this match, I really did.   However, I didn't get to enact any of them :)   My list got rammed into the ground by 6 kum enforcers on bikes with endless smoke and a storm of templates.  I wish I could say I put up a good fight, but that would be a lie.  End result 0 for me, 10 to him.

Loved all of my games, and would happily play every one of my opponents again.

I'm hoping it will get some upgrades in HS3, especially since it is moving up to S7.   People are speculating from the model that it might have some movement enhancement from the wings and jets on the back.   Probably no AD, because that [big bad swear word] would be ridiculous.  Something like super jump would be pretty sweet.

Ugh - there used to be a TAG for Combined Army called a Caskuda that did exactly that. It could drop on top of one of your guys and do a ton of damage, and then just wreck everything. It's one of the big reasons I took a couple years off the game. It's gone now though :)

Yeah, I have heard a lot of hate about that one model, which is why I'm not expecting AD to be an option.
