After how good Children of the Night was, this is a bit of a let down. Maybe it'll grow on me. It just doesn't hook me the same way.

Wiccus
This is pretty rad. Maori metal! It's strange how suited to metal the Maori language is. Also I love how well heavy guitar riffs complement the Haka.
nathonicus
Brutal!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_Weaponry Alien Weaponry's début single, "Urutaa", is sung partly in the Māori language and was originally about a clash of ideas and expectations leading to stress and unhappiness, which was likened to a plague or urutaa (an outbreak). The Maori lyrics refer to events that occurred in the Bay of Islands in the 1800s and what followed after a pocket watch was inadvertently dropped into the harbour. The misunderstanding culminated in the burning of the Boyd, a grim set of events in New Zealand's colonial history. Says the band "This incident is used in this song as a metaphor for the misunderstandings that continue to plague us today – between cultures, generations and individuals who torment each other through lack of understanding." The band's second single "Raupatu" (released in February 2017) is about land confiscations by the New Zealand colonial government in the 1800s and the unjust legislation of 1863 that allowed it to happen. Their third single, "Rū Ana te Whenua" (the trembling earth), released 1 July 2017, refers to the mighty battle at Pukehinahina/Gate Pa in 1864 where their great great great grandfather, Te Ahoaho, lost his life.[1]

nathonicus
Sherbert.... Bears! Charging down the ravine, Eyes glowing bright as they tear out your spleen. Over the mountains they fly with a roar Wherever they go, the bears just leave gore! Bears! Standing tall in the woods, They'll bite off your face if you're up to no good. Claws leaving scars, giant teeth tearing skin, Fur on the outside and darkness within! Beware the shadows that slink out of sight. The noises you hear will fill you with fright. Tonight the bears are hungry. (hungry...) Tonight you will not escape. (no escape...) Listening to you as you say your prayers - Evil bears with deadly stares. Ripping you apart to protect what's theirs - There is no escape from the furious bears! Hunters away! Stalking their prey! Track deep in the woods, to skin and to slay, They'll never catch up to the treacherous bears, Leading the hunters back to their lairs. Look up in the forest, and what do you see? The face of a bear that's watching for thee. Stand still, never budge, or the end will come quick, Don't make a sound, don't break a twig. Many ways you can die, torn limb from limb, Being eaten by a bear would be especially grim. BEARS! Watching you... BEARS! You're just food for... BEARS! Death comes slow when you're attacked by... BEARS! Live to kill... BEARS! Blood will spill... BEARS! Children eaten by the giant... BEARS! Setting a trap will lead to your death, You'll wake up in its jaws, you'll stop drawing breath. Tonight the bears surround you. (Surround you...) Tonight there will be blood. (YOUR BLOOD!) Hunters away! Stalking their prey! Track deep in the woods, to skin and to slay, They'll never catch up to the treacherous bears, Leading the hunters back to their lairs. Munkie
That bears song could be about actual bears or perhaps it's about those dudes from the 13th Warrior. You decide. *edit* Okay fine, i'll contribute. This oldie is a goodie, probably some of you haven't had the pleasure.

nathonicus
New Ghost album has some tracks that remind me of Queensryche. This one starts off slow, then kicks in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8oJQcnoss4
Sherbert
im not terribly impressed with the new ghost album. its kind of all over the place and does not have a lot of the darker tones that were prevalent in their earlier stuff.
