  4. Looking for someone in the Portland/Vancouver area to go 50/50 on the Hordes Two-Player Battle Box. I'd prefer to buy it from Mythic Realm Games in Salmon Creek as they do 20% off WarmaHordes stuff, so that works out to just 40$ each.

     

    I need the Circle Orboros half, I'd like the rulebook as well but I don't strictly need it.

     

    Of course, if anyone has an unused Circle half lying around I'll just buy it for 40$, that works too.

  6. I have to disagree that removing BB would make the game more "narrative". It basically makes most of the Inquisition stuff unusable for one, since practically the entire point of that book is to have Inquisitors running around with your main force (don't you dare tell me that somehow goes against fluff. DO. NOT.).

     

    I agree that silly stuff like conferring ATSKNF to an entire IG blob just because a Marine IC is there is silly, but removing BB entirely seems like a case of burning down the house to get rid of a mild termite infestation.

  7. Basically the only problematic Allies combo is Eldar/DEldar, and maybe Tau on occasion. But both Eldar and Tau are ridiculously strong even without allies, so all removing Battle Bros will really do is bump Daemons up a notch (since they don't use the BB function of Allies anyway, they just splash CSM for the Helturkeys sometimes) while keeping the "everyone gets their faces smashed by Tau/Eldar/Daemons" meta completely intact.

     

    Most Imperial lists that aren't WS Bikers or super Forgeworld-heavy IG tend to rely on BB allies to shore up their weaknesses in the face of the Big 3 onslaught, so removing BB will hurt mid-tier armies just as bad if not worse than it will the top-tier ones.

  8. I am TOTALLY understanding everyone's issue with my Grav weapons, it's just a personal preference. I have had great luck with them, dice rolls were great, popping rhinos/razorbacks/etc.

     

    Just saying, but, what weapon you're running doesn't change how the dice fall, and Plasma is just mathematically better on non-Relentless models against basically everything. Meaning you need less luck to get the same result, and extremely good rolls will have greater impact (like, say, exploding a vehicle in one shot at 24", which Grav is totally 100% incapable of doing ever no matter what forever).

  9. I'd drop the Gorgon's Chain on the MoTF, that's a lot of points to be spending on a 2-wound T4 model. Sure he'll have good saves but unless you hide him far away from the enemy it won't matter in the end, so you may as well put those points towards murder instead.

     

    Also, why Grav on the Tacs? Salvo is really bad on non-Relentless platforms (you're stuck firing 2 shots at 9" if you move at all), in almost all situations Plasma will be better (2 shots at 12" or 1 at 24", all the time). Grav is really the domain of Bikers and Centurions, anywhere else and it's just Plasma's less efficient younger cousin.

  10. You're not missing anything, RG just got the shaft in the Chapter Tactics department. If they had Stealth, like, all the time and not just on first turn (where it'll be redundant with the stealth provided by Night Fight half the time anyway) they might have been pretty good. The jump pack part is kinda nice, at least until you look at Bikes and realize they're STILL a better value.

  11. Basically, the effectiveness of the Maulerfiend goes something like this:

     

    A lone Mauler is junk.

     

    Two/Three Maulers are alright.

     

    Two/Three Maulers supporting 2-3 units of Spawn or Bikers and 2 fast-moving CC HQs (Biker/Jugger Lords, Daemon Princes, Be'lakor, Greater Daemons if you ally) are freaking amazing.

     

    The Forgefiend is always good. The Mauler really shines in a rushdown list, but will fall flat if you don't have in-your-face target saturation.
