It's fun for mind-numbing grinding, but the story doesn't compare to the Diablo franchise. Blizzard has an amazing Story team, both on Diablo and Star Craft. I've been considering re-installing D and D2 to play through the story again. I haven't played d3, but I've watched all the cinematics. And the expansion looks siiiiiiic.
