A small but tenacious strain of tyranid that has taken root deep in the wilds of Tartarus's southern jungles, the hive struggles to gain enough biomass to launch a new hive fleet, while the beleagured defenders of Tartarus try to keep the hive constrained enough to prevent Exterminatus.
