I will be here for some 40k learning game. Any preference on learning army? I can bring Knights, Nids, or Nurgle Daemons. What about point size?

Interested in playing some learning games of 40k. I have played 40k for over two decades but havent gotten a game in a few years.

This is really helpful. Can I pay for my membership for CY 23 online and have that then cover the remainder of Dec or do I need to come in person? Family is currently sick and I dont want to potentially spread a non-covid illness. I am totally looking to play some 40k Nids, knights, and nurgle daemons (fully painted). Also could pick up some necromunda or Titanicus but I'd need an intro on that stuff.

What is the best way to arrange a game night with someone as a long time lurker of the forum? Also I want to pay membership for CY 2022 so should I just wait until January?

Hey all I’ve been out of gaming range for a few years but now have a few armies ready to play. I have fully painted eldar, knights, and nurgle daemons, and Nids. Working on custodes. Also have sons of horus for horus heresy.

Can anyone recommend a good way to learn with two noobs?  Specifically, we have the McMourning and Collette crews.  What models should we use?  What kind of mission is good?  Some limited terrain I assume.

Got the models today.  Smaller than I had imagined and very detailed.  Got a free missanthrope and malifaux child in the box.

We bought McMourning and Collette.  I know I switched from the hog guy but thought I would give Dr. Frankenstein (pronounced Fronkenstene) a go.  I like the idea of monsters or undead dogs as well.

Will be learning and maybe joining a game or two in the future/

Can I get fate decks for the price of a deck of cards?

Wife and I are looking at some of the new crews to get started in malifaux.  We dont have a rulebook yet since the one I want seems to be consistently sold out.  

Outside of crews what do we need to get going?  Can we look at the rules before buying?  Is there a gaming group near albany?

Also we are looking at Collete and Ulix for starters.  Anything terrible there?

Kremmet thank you for taking the time to respond.  I really appreciate the information and feel less worried concerning my enjoyment of the legion model list.

The spouse and I enjoy playing warmahordes together.  Trolls are one faction that is really enjoyed for their looks and play style.  What is another faction that pairs well with this faction?  Keeping in mind we are not looking to crush one another but to be able to enjoy games that are challenging where either one of us can win.  I like the looks of Legion and Cryx but am concerned with their reputation for being someone strong with alpha strikes.  Does this lead to short games?  Are games one sided or can there be some back and forth?

Is there a previous topic that covers using war room to play a game?  My wife and I have tablets with war room on it, but are unable to play (see each others cards) in war room.  I made a new account but it still shows the cards we bought under her account so I assume this may be part of the problem.  Any guidance would be helpful.  Thanks.

On the arm I was trying to do some highlighting, but it didnt come through as well as I wanted it to.  How do you do glowing?  Eyes I was trying to figure out what color to use, the brass is a strong color.

Below are pics of a Kharn model, trying to aim for the Blood Disciples scheme from 40k.  I have 2 requests... 1) how can I improve upon this paint job?  2)How can I photo models better to assist in sharing my paint work?
