I dropped a vet squad and HWS in place of an extra tank and 3 autocannon sentinels. Seems like it's both more versatile and redundant.

Do I have enough anti-air?
  3. What's a good troop choice to put in a Valkyrie? Plasma or melta vets? Gonna have to rework this. I'm new to IG and 6th, bear with me :)

Here is what I'm thinking about: HQ - Yarrick - Pask in Punisher 2 Executioners w/ multi-melta sponsons - Psyker x2 - Priest x3 Troops -Platoon Platoon command squad Infantry Squad w power Axe Infantry Squad w power Axe Infantry Squad w power Axe -Veterans w lascannon and forward sentries -Veterans w lascannon and forward sentries Fast Attack -armored sentinel w lascannon -armored sentinel w lascannon -armored sentinel w lascannon - Valkyrie w lascannon - Valkyrie w lascannon Heavy Support - Wyvern x 3 -Aegis Defence Line w/ Quad Gun 2000 points Vets and PCS hide behind aegis w/a psyker. A priest goes into each blob. Yarrick goes with a blob and may be embarked in a vendetta if necessary. Are the wyverns and pask w punisher overkill for anti-infantry? Do I have enough scoring and should I be concerned with weak leadership stats on my blobs? Thinking of dropping wyverns and sentinels for another Russ Squadron

  7. Also considering Tau allies. They seem to have a decent amount of reliable anti armor. What tau units compliment bikers well? I haven't looked at the new Tau codex yet.
  8. So you're saying that to combat Super Heavies, I need more reliable anti-armor? I haven't heard about escalation yet. That's allowing superheavies in non apocalypse games? If I were to scrap the three flyers, what other anti-armor And anti-flyer options are efficient for SM?

Here is my first list attempt: HQ Khan on bike Troops 4x units of 8 space marine bikers w/ grav-gun, veteran sergeant w/ powerfist, plus attack bike w/ MultiMelta Heavy Support Thunder fire cannon Thunder fire cannon Storm wing dataslate (2x stock storm talons and a stock storm raven) If my math is right, that all come out to 1942 points. Thats 36 bikes. I realize the thunder fire cannons are a bit isolated. And all three flyers come in on one reserve roll. Crazy! How's it look?
  10. So I've been costing some things, reading a bit and figuring out what I want for a WS biker army. I figure the army will be based around Khan and 4 full units of bikers. To support this, I'm looking toward the following: 2x thunder fire cannons 2x stormtalon gunships 1 x stormraven with a tactical squad And possible extra HQ Do any of these options compliment bikers well? Should I go a different route? Allies? I want to build 1000-2000 point lists.
  11. Okay, thinking of running vanilla SM bikers as white scars. What sort of support do I need? Thunderfire cannons? Stormraven? What compliments the marine biker army well? Ally's? Seems its gonna be near a $500,investment all told, unless I can find used bikers, which seem unlikely.

  18. What should I be looking to spend on a tau/sm ally or sm/ tau Ally force?
  19. I left 40k a month or so before 6th edition came out and I'm interested in getting back into the hobby. Can anyone recommend a good starter army for 6th? I played Blood Angels, Orks and Tau in 5th. I'm mostly interested in some form of Marines, and Tau. The most bang for my buck is consideration as I don't want to spend more than $250-300 for a viable 2000ish point army if possible. Are there stand-out stronger armies? Or are the newest codices generally the stronger armies?

  22. Anyone got a box of old cards they're looking to get rid of? Anyone even playbthis game anymore or ever heard of it? It was a favorite of mine back in the day. Looking to get some cards to play around with.
