  1. Came home today to find that my damnable feline used my storage bin (the one containing all of my assembled, primered, and painted ogres) as a springboard to my window ledge. Long story short the little pissant managed to flip the entire thing over and accomplished the near impossible feat of damaging half the contents. This is why I voted for a dog.

    I sold my ikea glass cabinet this afternoon, followed shortly thereafter by me unwrapping my glass display cabinet (beautiful wooden contraption) and finding out that the damn thing was shattered during the move.

    A harrowing afternoon. Thanks for letting me rant and now on to my question.

    Looking for a transport/storage option that's more secure and would allow me to store my models upright. I've had my eye on a tablewar case (http://www.tablewar.com/) but all of their example are 40k related and they haven't responded to my inquiry. Anyone familiar with this product or seen if it can accommodate a WFB army. Thanks

  2. Hey folks, have various items that I'm looking to sell in my effort to downsize (and purchase more stuff strangely enough). I would like to avoid having to ship anything, so would prefer to sell to someone local (pdx) or if you could arrange to have a friend meet me.

    Ogre kingdoms army book (good condition, $25)

    2 giants ($35 for both)  ++Pending++

    One is built, painted as the chaos variant, and was something I received as part of trade from awhile back. The other is NOS, although missing the base.

    Malifaux lady justice box set (metal, unassembled and in box) and card deck ($15)

    Sabol motor pool army bag ($89 new, asking $35) ++SOLD++

    Glass cabinet from ikea ($65 new, asking $20) ++SOLD++

    Mixed lot of at-43 terrain, shipping containers, and assorted terrain (sold as one lot)   ++Sold++

  3. Played Empire (Murphy's Lawyer) with my 2000pt Rampage List. I'll spare you the details, but my first run at ogres was at the very least educational. Things were going well at first as I was actually out shooting an Empire list and bombarding him with heaven's magic. It's not often that I can point to specific mistakes that cost me the game, but in this instance I can point to two. First lesson learned, don't send mournfangs in unsupported and, more importantly, don't charge a steamtank. Second lesson learned, don't get all brazen with with the ironblaster and start charging things. I bounced off a unit ofd reiksguard knights, which would have been decimated by a well placed cannon ball or even grapeshot. I think I'll be sticking with this list for the rampage, as it includes most of my OFCC army minus a bull unit, stonehorn, giant, and fourth mournfang.

    As far as my OFCC list goes, I'm liking the looks of this one:

    Slaughtermaster- Lvl4, heavens,  GW, glittering scales, grut's sickle, dragonbane gem

    Bruiser- BSB , dragonhelm, gold sigil sword, ironcurse icon

    Butcher- Lvl 1, GW, dispel scroll

    Ironguts (6)- FC, standard of discipline

    Ogres (6)- Standard, bellower, ironfists

    Ogres (6)- Standard, bellower, ironfists

    Leadbelchers (4)- bellower

    Maneaters (4)- Standard, bellower, hvy armor, brace of pistols, scouting/poison, gleaming pennant

    Mournfang (4)- Standard, bellower, hvy armor, ironfists, dragonhide banner

    sabretusk

    Giant

    Ironblaster

    Stonehorn - harpoon launcher

    I added the gold sigil sword on the bsb as I have no other way to contend with ethereal units. I would have like to have added another sabretusk, but would have been hard pressed even if I dropped the extraneous magic items. The sabretusk points value (same as the legal drinking age) is hard to make work. Hopefully the current iteration of my OFCC doesn't tilt the rating scale too much.

  4. Hi folks,

    Have a very specific bitz request that I need to finish up my maneaters for OFCC.

    I need:

    -mournfang pistols with the hand attached, I could also use the accompanying arm piece

    -crossbow shaft with arm from the stonehorn kit

    I have (trade preferred, but I also have cash):

    -chaos warrior bitz and iconography (from various 40k and WFB, couple from forgeworld)

    -metal dark elf assassin (NIB)

    -plastic skaven plague monk (from the bell kit I think)

    -parts from the citadel battering ram (was converting it to a warshrine, hence the CW bitz above)

    -metal lady justice box set and cards

    -3 or 4 of the AT-43 shipping containers, bunker, and some other bitz

  5. Update time:

    Assembled: 2 x 6 man ogre units, 2 sabretusks, ironblaster, bsb, slaughtermaster, giant, gorger

    Planned assembly for this week: leadbelchers, followed by 6 man irongut unit, possibly 4 maneaters

    Painting- testing out paint scheme on a maneater

    I'm thinking about swapping out one of the leadbelcher units and the gorger for a four man squad of maneaters (brace of pistols, hvy armor, scout, poison, gleaming pennant). I really like maneaters and I think they would cause more ruckus for warmachines and whatnot. Any thoughts, I was thinking about running them 2x2 to avoid charge arcs and make them more maneuverable.

  6. Nephren-Ka I challenge you! I give you the option to pick the points. OFCC practice list are good with me too.

    Challenge accepted albeit it may have to be next weekend. My ogres aren't assembled yet and my high elves were mistakenly placed in storage at my father-in-law's house (who is currently out of town until mid June). Hoping I'll have at least 2000pts of ogres assembled by the 25th, they'll use the feathers on your fancy hats to pick their teeth.

  7. Personally if this was my list to rate at this point its a 3.2

    Strongly middle of road, with minimal power items and choices.

    I'd gladly rework those magic items though, if you.wanted my opinion.

    Please. I feel foolish throwing more points on the butcher, but then I realize that Ive already invested a great deal by just including him.

    Looking nice there. When you get that together I would like to get a game in to see if my Boys of Hochland can stand up to it. :cool:

    You got it, I'll be needing a crash course in how to play ogres and many, many a game to feel reasonably competent. Hochlanders taste like chicken, gauntlet thrown.

  8. Okay, I went a little crazy with the armor but it seemed like a better deal than talismans. Points total is 2799. So is this list approaching middle of the road?

    Lords

        * Slaughtermaster- lvl 4, lore of heavens, crown of command, gold sigil sword, armor of fortune

    Heroes

        * Bruiser- BSB, great weapon, armor of silver steel, luckstone

        * Giant

        * Ironblaster

  9. Ogre wizards are restricted from taking magical armor, correct? Reading through some forums and folks were making the argument that being able to take an ironfist made magical armor allowed. I'll definately shift around some points and see what I can come up with to allow for the dragonhide banner. Please tell me that the gorger is worth its 90pts.

  10. This is a bad list. I would judge it as too weak for the OFCC. Hero's list is the way to go.

    That's about as direct a response as I could ask for, duly noted and thanks. I went back to my original list and incorporated some of the feedback (i.e. toned it down). I like it well enough, and I went with the FC on the bulls because I had the extra points although I might drop the champs for another sabretusk:

    Lords
        * Slaughtermaster- lvl 4, lore of heavens, crown of command, gold sigil sword, tal of preservation
    Heroes
        * Bruiser- BSB, great weapon, armor of silver steel, luckstone
        * Butcher- lvl 1, lore of great maw, great weapon, dispel scroll, opal amulet, ironcurse amulet

        * Sabretusk Pack (1)
    Rare
        * Giant
        * Ironblaster
        * Stonehorn -Harpoon Launcher
  11. Made some changes to the list above, really tempted to make this happen. Do I go with the White Mammoth Tribe or something similar to my original build? Folks, please weigh in. Which would you prefer to play against at OFCC

    Pros- fluffy, seems fun to play, in keeping with the spirit of OFCC

    Cons- Never played ogres before, may be limiting myself too much, additional purchases
