Zcaust83 I used to play back in the day (80's & 90's). Just picked up the new boxed set a few days ago. Once Covid stuff calms down ... let's get together and you can teach me the ropes.

Looking to jump back into 40K after 10 year break. My Imperial Guard are all RT (1st edition ... yes, I played all the way back in the 80's) plastic and metal. I want to keep the theme but add some squads.

Particulary need same RT plastic arms and las guns if you have them.

Local in Portland, willing to meet up. 

Hope some of you have some of these buried somewhere in a bits box and would be willing to see them go to a good home.

I visited last week and they still have the game TANKS but all the blisters and boxed sets have been sold off and they are not restocking.

Still lots of terrain and such though.

I would refrain from making a GW / BF comparison ... Phil is a war gamer and the original force (for the most part) behind BF ... GW does not have any of the original crew and is so corporate now. As for new source books ... it is what it is ... I've been playing 40K since 88 and that's just life in the GW world. Also played FOW since it hit the shelf and again ... deal with it ... you don't need every resource book that comes out. If you do ... wait till they have a sale for Pete's sake. I have listened to Phil on the podcast and I see his reasoning and I feel that he is aware of what is at stake. I also get the impression that he is not going off the deep end here folks. Wait till we have a better idea of the shape of things to come. Plus if you get the new rules (for free) and you don't like what you see ... just stay with V3. This is a no lose situation in my book.

Just finish putting together my M109's ... still not quite satisfied with them. Next will be working on my M113 variants ... should have those together soon. Then comes the Inf.

M1's are done and helo's need some more work. Then painting.

I need to get playing. 

James,  Fingolfen has dibs ... but if he can't do it for some reason... I will be his back up. So I would go ahead and schedule it. We could do mid war or late. Standard demo points or something bigger.

JustJokin, I am also doing the magnet thing. I look forward to your pictures to see how you approached it. I am doing mine to get more flexibility ... though I will have to add a second group to have what will be most flexible. 

I didn't magnetize the M113's / ITV's turrets ... I just use a wee bit of sticky tack ... does the trick ... makes the pieces interchangeable. Though I did magnetize the gun deck.

I would ... in my mind ... do four and then see how that works. You may say ... good, that's all I need or you might want to do more. I will let you know when I get to that point. Right now progress is slow and the M1 Tank's stowage has my attention for the moment.

I'm not sure ... I think the Northerners got really tired of the Southerners defeating them (over and over ... and over again) ... I mean the trophy is decorated in our miniatures. The Trophy is also down here with the perpetual winners.

I'm not saying that we should "not" let them try ... absolutely let them try ... to be sure ...they are such a nice group of guys ... I just fear for the Northmen ... only deepening the self confidence gulf. What might another loss at our hands do to the moral?

What was that noise? Oh ... that was the sound of the gauntlet being dropped at the Northmen's feet.
